So Nicky Romero and Nile Rodgers have released a new track today (was just browsing new songs released today) and came across this track, knowing Nile has worked with Gaga I was just curious on how you all feel if there was this kind of sound/instrumentation on LG5. I actually really like it :flutter:

Not sure if this has been posted before, did a quick search but didn't find anything

Thoughts!?

I hate disco so much, it's so f*cking cheesy :awkney:

Yeah, I kind of feel the same way. That was.. not something I'm into.

But I mean, it's Gaga, so I guess she can make me like it? I enjoyed I Want Your Love quite a lot.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

I love Nile's distinctive guitar rifs on the song, but the EDM-ish vibes are really off-putting...her "I want your love" cover, for example, is much better than this...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

This is what I like about it not the entire song really but the Guitar rifs I feel that will be more of Nile's contribution to some tracks as opposed to having the sound be a copy of this track...I mean she's working with Mark Ronson and Giorgio so id expect more of a funk ish type of feel, not really disco but a mixture of it with rock and funk.

Being a dated music genre of the 70s doesn't make it cheesy babe. Disco is very defining. :hor:

But yeah, those added EDMness is cringey. :duck:

Those guitar riffs sound like the one from I Want Your Love, and I would like to hear a Gaga original song with those riffs. :flutter:

About disco music...
I wouldn't just dismiss it as "cheesy"...
Some ppl might have this perception bc they're not used to it. The truth is that melodically and rhythmically disco music is very interesting...the genre itself was marginalized, bc it was seen as black ppl/latin ppl/gay ppl music for a very long time...and as an opposing genre to rock, which was the white male's music that received all the praise and accolades, allowing it to have a bigger impact in the music we have today and on our ideas of what "good music" means.

I think going full on disco is not something Gaga would or should do (specially bc that view of disco music persists, so it would narrow her audience too much), but disco influences can produce great songs, like Sophie Ellis Bextor's "Murder on the dance floor" or Joni Mitchell's "Help me"...
