but... but... but...

it wasn't just NME, Telegraph said that Lorde's "tribute to Bowie was powerful and affecting, showing up Lady Gaga’s Grammy award extravaganza for the superficial, soulless travesty it was."

I am just pointing that, I am yet to see Lorde's tribute, I don't have a real opinion

If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

Well one was a celebration of Bowie's career and all about showmanship and the other one was a "soft spoken" eulogy. Different strokes for different folks

It was clever how they did the performance, people could connect emotionally to it. Gaga switched too much and the impersonator look was not a good idea, she shoulded highlight some of Bowies characteristic but make it her own and also give Bowie more space.

But i must say, i found Lordes voice weak.

That's their opinion.  Everyone's entitled to an opinion, but that doesn't mean it's the truth.  Have you forgotten how much praise the media and Hollywood gave Gaga??

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Yes, but it's just an opinion. It's subjective.

Like I said I'm just glad that Bowie is being remembered.  As far as I care they could get an unknown up there on cello and play one of his songs.  They're legendary and need to be kept alive for people to remember or discover.

It's just the matter of taste, some hipsters may pretend they knew Bowie's music for a long time

And think they have the audacity to trash Gaga cos they disagree with what she did,

but so can people who enjoy what she did and try to defend her.

All I know, many of the older folks enjoy and appreciate Gaga's approach.

Opinions aren't facts though.

but writing off NME's review simply because of their past with Gaga isn't applicable to another publication's article

From the same article.

I can't take them seriously if they could praise her performance at first, then do a 180 a week and half later. :awkney:

I'm sorry, I edited my comment, so I'll just quote myself here to complete my thoughts...

I wouldn't expect anything different from NME...
I mean, everyone gets to have an opinion, that's democracy. But I frankly don't get why they are so personally against Gaga...

From all the stuff they said, though..."It was subtle", bc David Bowie was all about subtlety, right...? They want to **** on Gaga for going for spectacle and artifice in the same way that Bowie, the person they're trying to praise, did..? And "It was actually about Bowie"...are they INSIDE Gaga's head to know that? "It had Bowie's stamp pf approval"...? Did they get the Long Island Psychic to talk to him...?

You see how they're full of **** when they make any comment about her? I mean, ppl can definitely think Lorde did a better a job, I totally get it (particularly, I think they achieved similar results, through different routes), as long as they don't start pulling these stupid "reasons" out of their asses...

And I frankly don't care about what NME or the Telegraph have to say about it. I've watched both performances with my own eyes and I'm old and smart enough to come to my own conclusions (I'm sorry, if I sound harsh, it's not supposed to sound harsh...I'm sick and I get very objective when I'm not feeling good physically)...I don't think none of the performances were particularly stellar, they achieve similar results, only through different approaches...

But I 100% respect your opinion, I just don't agree...

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

i haven't watched Lorde's performance and i loved Gaga's so i have yet to form an opinion

this was aimed at those who scoffed at the idea of Lorde doing a tribute to David

You don't know about the author though, it could be the same situation where they've flipped off Gaga in the past.
