This was a perfect example of visuals trying to make up for lack of good vocals or all-round amazing performance. The epilepsy inducing lights throughout, the multiple back up dancers and the shock value of grinding on Drake was all clever ploys to cover up the fact that she really can't sing all that well. And to lift a terrible song. Everyone else who performed stood head and shoulders above her tonight. This is what proves that Rihanna is all about image and how everything she's achieved is all to do with her looks, youth and hopping on music trends.

You must be her biggest fan, have mental issues or just jealous cause you're on literally every Rihanna thread saying the exact same thing.  I still don't understand how she's hopping on music trends with ANTi when barely sounds like anything on the radio except Pose.

Find it funny you always say she can't sing.

Because I want the message to get through. I'm a realist about things. I do think she's hopping on a trend with Anti because ever since ARTPOP, more and more popstars have started trying to be musically rebellious and are taking more risks. Plus, the stuff in Anti sounds a lot like the stuff on modern RnB albums. Being experimental is the new commercial in urban music right now. She wouldn't have done this years back when making commercial urban was where it was at.

I've seen that video before. I still don't think it's all that much to write home about. She's a nasally singer and when she goes for big notes, especially belts, she lacks control and can't push her voice to the extreme she wants. The best performance I can think of is her last X Factor one, but there are still plenty of better vocals out there that make it look like small fry. Most of the time, she sounds like what Britney would if she were from Barbados - that squeaky, girly voice with not a lot of power is shared with her.

I don't like when singer sings half of their songs live, then the other half or parts of it is the back track/vocals.

Like here, rihanna : Sings 6 words, *back vocals*, says a word *back vocals*. It just "cuts" the song in parts and it doesn't do justice to any song imo.

I'm glad Gaga doesnt do that.

That was pretty mediocre. Does she have a choreographer? Maybe she can't do choreography and sing at the same time, because she was out of breath with the minimal movement she was making? 

They better have a bunch of lights and dancers on tour to make up for Rihanna's lack of movement, or set it up so she can sing even less than she is already singing.
