I agree with you...Rihanna doesn't make timeless or classic music that can be sung for decades. She makes music for the now and what's gonna be a hit...

Beyonce at least has an entire body of work that may not have necessarily gone #1 but are quite popular songs! She could do a Vegas residency rn with all her hits if she wanted to as could Rihanna, but I would PAY to see Beyonce cuz I KNOW the woman can sing, dance, and put on a GREAT show with energy...

Rihanna will come out...give OK vocals, weird "dancing", and just kinda "get through it"....

This. Plus if Rihanna was "indestructible" and a "force" then why did she have to lie about bronchitis as an excuse to cancel or postpone a few dates of her tour which people aren't that interested about? Legends have memorable music videos and performances. The only memorable thing rihanna has done is put out hit songs but she has no memorable performances or music videos besides it took her 7 albums to get a number one album. 13 number ones isn't something to brag about when other legends on that list have had number one albums to back up the credibility of their work. It is offensive to put Rihanna together with Madonna, MJ, Whitney, Celine Dion, The Supremes, The Beatles, Stevie Wonder etc since they all had other major success whereas Rihanna just relies on singles.

She's right. I'm sure the average person couldn't name all those hits. I only know them because I review music and keep up with all the latest artists. If I didn't do this research, it wouldn't be the case. I definitely don't think people will remember Work years from now like some of her other hits (the worldwide performance of the track confirms that). She simply doesn't have any iconic performances. I can think of some, but they're not iconic by any means, just maybe some of her better performances. She has a lot of Vevo views but only because the songs are popular, so the video of course does well. Her only iconic videos are Umbrella, Only Girl In The World, We Found Love. Maybe Rude Boy and Diamonds. For all that S&M was a hit, I don't think the video is all that iconic.

Like Wendy says, her songs are good for the here and now and while she's young. She won't be able to sing the half of her discography when she's in her 40's. People like Beyonce, on the other hand, while they may not have as many #1's, have loads of mature songs that they could sing years from now and people will still value in years to come. Rihanna's songs are focused so much on current trends that they won't mean much in years to come. That's why it's best to go your own way and be timeless. And I know she said that's what she was going for with Anti, but her version of timeless is still very current.

Assuming Kiss It Better is her next #1

that would make her in need of 4 more to be the female artist with most number ones, 6 more to beat the Beatles record.

I honestly don't doubt it from happening

give her three more albums or let her make more tracks with Eminem

She's definitely right about Rihanna, Beyoncé might - she's an amazing performer, her discography isn't THAT large for the solo part of it.

Rihanna is a legend. I love Wendy, but disagree with her. Beyonce' is just more family. Rihanna will go down as a rebel soul who pushed through getting beat in front of America and still staying powerful. Let's not forget Beyonce' been in the business. It's annoying how these two are compared just because their "black" in America. They are nothing alike besides being people with brown skin. So irritating.

PopBitch

I love Rihanna.  The hottest popstar out there with true edge, not manufactured edge, that doesn't give a fvck, and has put out some great albums, and a lot of great singles.  I love Anti. I loved Unapologetic Bitch.

Statement songs...yeah sure. As if Beyoncé doesn't have songs that are about shaking your ass or sex.  Sure everyonce in a while just like Rihanna does there is a statement song.

Freakum Dress is a statement

Baby Boy is a statement

Check On It is a statement

Naughty Girl is a statement

XO is a statement

Partition is a statement

7/11 is a statement

lol

also Rihanna's last tour did 142 million

Beyoncé's last tour did 120 million

Never thought I'd see the day where I'd actually agree with Wendy on something.
