TIHTY Oscars Performance : Take this in consideration

I've seen that a lot of you want Gaga to dedicate the Oscar TIHTY performance to Kesha and it's understandable and I would love that but this is why I prefer it won't happen :

Knowing that I support Kesha a lot, it would be truly risky for Gaga to do this, not only she would generate a shitstorm, but if Kesha is proven (even by corruption) to be a liar about the whole issue (I sincerely hope this won't happen because I love Kesha even if I'm neutral towards her music) then Gaga would feel stupid and this would be a bad press move, not that I care about her success, but I really care about her image.

I don't know but I was thinking about it the whole day and it's not that I doubt about Kesha's allegations, I believe she's saying the truth but you know how corporations can get manipulative thanks to money lobbying (which isn't illegal in the US).

This is just a thought to take in consideration, please don't question my love and support for Kesha because she has them, thank you.

I agree. If it was proven that he didn't actually rape her then that would be such an awful career move :O

Honestly, people who know Gaga is performing are most likely expecting her to mention Kesha or even hint at it. I think it would be wise of Gaga to dedicate the song to every victim, ESPECIALLY the ones who are fighting day after day, and aren't being heard.

Preach.

You gave me the initiative to post my thought, thank you

The whole Kesha issue depresses me tbh

I also think she shouldn't dedicate it to one specific person, for those exact reasons. Not to mention the song/topic is truly timeless, and having Kesha be singled out would date the performance if future generations happen to watch it.

She'll bring Kesha up the stage to perform with her...:green:

(But, seriously, I see your point and I agree...not bc Gaga might look bad or anything - I don't think she'll be that affected by this, no matter how good or bad things turn out for Kesha. I just think that the issue the song deals with is way bigger than Kesha's problem... and while she's an emblematic example, mentioning her would bring awareness to her judicial dispute with Luke, not to the systematic sexual assault of women in campuses, in the music industry, etc., as the song was originally intended to underline)

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Mister Gaga

Knowing gaga, i can already tell that she'll dedicate TIHTY's performance to her and all rape victims. I mean, with all the RTs and instagram/facebook pics, it's almost sure imo that she'll dedicate it to her.

But i agree with the point; it's kinda risky. But if she believes her (and most of the media/GP, not to say everyone but Dr Luke's people, are with Kesha), there's nothing we can do. I think she should do it tbh. If she can bring more exposure to clear Kesha's case, and eventually, make justice, i'm here for it.

It's already attached to the situation by default and in an unspoken way as it is to millions of other situations. It's a bold and obvious discussion of sexual assault.

This doesn't need, nor should it have, an additional specific dedication. It's a dedication in and of itself.

While I believe Kesha is being 100% honest, we don't know if her defense team will fail to furnish sufficient evidence to prove that Dr. Luke raped her or not.  If this happens, it may make Gaga look bad.  Personally, I think Gaga should dedicate the song to all victims of rape, famous or not.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

My thoughts exactly, I hope she'll play it safe and support Kesha behind the scenes :ohno:

How could gaga look bad for believing that one of her peers was raped, when herself have been through that ?!:duck:
I really don't get you.
Plus the trial is not a penal one about if Kesha was raped, it's a financial one about contract+Sony

So let her speak for herself for god sake.:deadbanana:
