malazam 15,710
It was very discussed here and I think most of us share her thoughts. Helen Green took her facebook page to speaks about it. She wrote: ''While I may have had mixed thoughts about Gaga's tribute to David Bowie*, I really loved her whole Ziggy-gone-Gaga red carpet look at the Grammy awards last week! *I wasn't that keen on the 10-song medley approach - I personally would have loved to have heard Gaga sing three of his songs at most, so not to lose the emotional connection. But that's just me! I cannot fault the execution. Based on the 10 song snippets, I'm dying to see Gaga perform 'Fame' and 'Fashion' in full, they suited her pretty damn well. Emoticono heart (I just realised she looks a bit more like Angie here)'' + an animated video of her red carpet look + this new static fan art: Do you agree with her? I do. Anyway, I loved it. another shot before we kiss the other side
DeleteMyAccount 11,881
I definitely agree that 3-4 songs shouldn't been done. The whole thing seemed rushed. I loved it, but the songs came and went too fast for me.
Stephen 30,426
I would have loved just Space Oddity, Fashion, Fame, and Heroes. Either way it's a great tribute but I see her point about the emotional connection.
FlopSlurper 34,336
I don't think doing 3 songs would have done him justice when he has so many iconic songs to choose from.
Red 98,021
Honestly I would be happy if it was just Space Oddity with projections on her face cause it was the best part. If you see me posting like crazy, I'm either bored or procrastinating.

So I agree that less would have been better.
Fernster7 7,922
I love that she sang so many songs because it introduced them to me and I found some amazing pieces of work. If it was like most of this site wanted it to be I wouldn't have cared because honestly I didn't like Fame and Fashion, instead I loved some of the least favorite options. Monsters never die. LaLuna 12,732
I completely agree. The whole thing seemed a bit rushed. But the thing is, when an artist has a legacy that spans four decades and 25 albums, how do you pay tribute to them in just 6 minutes? Gaga did the best she could but if she had just done 2 or 3 three songs, people would've been like "She left out so many iconic songs!" A perfect tribute was nearly impossible to accomplish. Like I said in another thread, the only way to really honor Bowie's legacy is by dedicating an entire concert to him, I could very well see the Cirque du Soleil do something for him like they did for the Beatles and Michael Jackson. AddMeOnMYSPACE 2,021
I stull think she should of performed "Life on mars", "Heroes", "Space oddity", and "Fashion" but i guess we can't have it all Still loved it though!
latina twilight 2,319
I disagree on that two or three songs thing. It's obvious that Gaga wanted to capture Bowie's legacy through his career, a very long one. If she were to make just three songs, she should've worn just a gown and a blonde wig because dressing as Bowie wouldn't make any sense, and also, the backlash for the small number of songs would be huge. In my opinion, the problem was the time they gave to her. Maybe a 10 minutes performance would've gave her the chance of performing at least half of most of the songs, but that's impossible since the Grammys wouldn't risk at people getting bored, and it would be unfair for the rest of the tributes paid that night. So, I think it's just fine like that. "YOU USED TO BE SO KIND, I NEVER KNEW YOU HAD SUCH A DIRRTY MIND".
Sizzily 14,543
Fashion and Fame were my least favorite But I think 3 would have been great. Tears in the rain
Pablo 7,811
I think it's rude to nit pick like that. If she did 3-4 songs people would complain that she left out bowies hits. Not really sure why Helen is talking about this publicly, gaga will probably kick her out of the house for disagreeing with her performance Don't visit my profile
