Gaga Tweets Kesha

She was signed to Dr. Luke's label Kemosabe which is owned by Sony Music. As far as I know, Sony agreed on letting her work with different producers while still being signed to Dr. Luke, but knowing how Sony destroys artists who speak up against them (see Mariah Carey, Michael Jackson, and George Michael) that's not the result they were hoping for.

Her career is basically on pause for the next 6 records (iirc) she records. Assuming that they release a record every two years, she'd still have to record music under terrible conditions for about 12 years.

Sorry for ignorance in the bussiness.... Away from Kesha, wasn't gaga signed to Akon at first? Does that mean she couldn't do anything unless he agreed on it? What happened later..How could she choose whoever she works with or is it a different process?

I'm glad Gaga spoke up!

I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

Don't be! :)

Every contract is different, so we can't know for sure how Gaga's contracts looked like. In Kesha's case her contract forces her to stay with Dr. Luke and his label for 8, if not more, album releases. There's always the option of "buying yourself out of the contract," but it usually takes a lot of money to do so and most artists can't afford that.

I think that's so wonderful how Gaga is there to offer her support, being a victim of abuse herself. I'm sure Kesha appreciates it.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

There's a glitch with posting tweets :neyde:

Please post a topic in the support section describing the issue.

I'm not even a huge Kesha fan, but this ruling actually really upset me - way more than I thought it would.

So disappointing and unfair, I hope that Kesha is able to move forward somehow and I hope Sony will allow her to continue making records without Dr. Luke and actually promote her.

I'll be buying whatever music Kesha releases in the future to show support towards her until she is finally released from her contract.

Bad Bromance

I knew Gaga would Tweet Kesha sooner or later.  I'm so glad Gaga is showing Kesha her support.

It's truly awful what Kesha is going through right now so I really hope things work out for her in the long run.

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.
