**** Sony, **** Dr. Luke, and **** any artist who works with him and puts money and fame ahead of being an ally for survivors. I hope they come to another decision.

Stressed, depressed, but well dressed.

Today is another sad reminder that courts rarely protect victims.

The necessity of proof always lies with the person who lays charges; courts can't make judgments based on their personal feelings and convictions.

It's an unfortunate reality that guilty people walk free, and victims don't see justice.

Hope she can be strong with all this mess throwing at her, I'm worried she might do something awful to herself out of frustration

This is disgusting. She is NOT an investment, she is a human being.

It'd be nice if some of the bigger pop acts decided to speak up to what is happening, you know? But they don't feel the need to bother unless it involves someone in their life or themselves. :crossed:

I have hope that things may turn around on May 18, big celebrities have shown support, it's still trending Worldwide (even non-fans and regular people wanna help), there is a new petition which has reached it's goal already & people are finally seeing additional proof that Dr. Luke is a creep.

That's what scares me. I'd hate for her to do the unthinkable. I've cried so much over this today

I've almost cried over it. I threw my phone down when I heard about it.

Promise I'll always be there. Promise I'll be the cure.

That photo of Kesha crying is tragic. It makes me believe her more and more.

It's unfortunate though that she doesn't appear to have hard proof of any harassment what-so-ever. This is a MUST for cases like this. Victims of sexual abuse (really, any abuse) are always encouraged to gather evidence and speak out immediantly or as soon as possible for just this very reason. She either didn't have good counsel on her side and/or Luke was very careful. Or she is lying. I don't believe she is but there is a reason the burden of proof is on the side of the accuser. It's to protect others from being wrongly accused. Of course, this has the dual side of making it harder for victims to get justice, especially knowing they will face harassment from the opposing side. That's why they say the system isn't perfect.

Now from the New York Post article (a group I don't particularly find trustworthy to begin with, but regardless), it seems as though Kesha no longer has to work with Dr. Luke. Of course, I can't imagine the work environment being too pleasant and I noticed it didn't say anything about Dr. Luke not being in the same room or engaging with her. I imagine it could become a rather nasty working environment for her. So this can go one of two ways. One, everyone's fears comes true, and Kesha will have difficulty getting her albums promoted and they will all tank, leaving her reputation as a performer in the mud, not to mention the massive amount of depression she will probably be feeling through the ride. Or, it is possible that Sony does still see her as a viable commodity, and having "won" the case, will still see her as a potential hit maker and her follow up as valuable and may possibly keep Luke away so she can put out the best possible product (on their terms of course). Sony seems like a particularly money-hungry company and would likely put greed before vendetta. Since Dr. Luke and Sony haven't be convicted of anything, they may try to smooth things over a bit with Kesha to get to a point like before. Of course, even with this "best case" scenerio, I doubt she will be allowed to make the type of music she wants. Of course, they could always sink her career and bury it six feet under as a further "lesson" to others not to bring lawsuits up their way.

As for Dr. Luke, whether guilty or innocent, he will want his name cleared. If he continues making the big hits, it won't matter so much, however, if he dips for too long it will be harder and harder to over look the accusations. Many singers and their agents may feel the risk is worth it if they can get a smash from Luke, but if not, forget it.

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

It's not that simple. I'm sure there are plenty who would have something to say about it, but by doing so they'd be sticking their own necks out. Business is a nasty game.

Sony's always been ridiculous. Look up Michael Jackson's issues with them when he released his last album Invincible in 2001, so this doesn't shock me.

Regardless if you're a fan of Ke$ha or not, this sucks for her. I really feel bad, especially 'cause I did like her a few years ago. I pray something good happens to her in the future.

You hit it right on the head. I don't think any artists, specifically female artists, are being selfish or anything by being silent about it. I'm sure Britney & many other peers of her have an opinion, but no matter who's side their own it could screw certain things up. So it's best to stay quiet.

This goes for any other situation, i.e. MJ's trial in 2005 & others. Now of course there's people like Gaga who hasn't really worked with him much, or at all, so it probably depends on the artist too.
