Pope Francis questions Donald Trump's Christian beliefs

What About Us

"A woman gets pregnant. She’s nine months. She walks across the border. She has the baby, in the United States, and we take care of the baby for 85 years. I don’t think so. And by the way, Mexico, and almost every other country anywhere in the world, doesn’t have that. We’re the only ones dumb enough, stupid enough to have it. And people — and by the way, this is not just with respect to Mexico, they’re coming from Asia to have babies here, and all of a sudden, we have to take care of the babies for the life of the baby."

I would actually disagree with pope interfering with politics by manipulating public opinions via using the most effective stupefier aka religion.

But in this case, I support it. Because:

US has way too much military power to consider US presidential elections as a concern of US internal politics; it is a relevant matter for the whole world.

Due to unequal distribution of wealth and american approach to healthcare and education as matters of business rather than rights of citizens, a big proportion of US is undereducated for a country that is as developed as US which is raised on the shoulders of highly intelligent and skillful minority that come to US from all over the world.

This big proportion of undereducated people now tries to establish tyranny of majority in US, and their leader is Trump. Considering military and diplomatic power US holds, this kind of regime in the states is a subject of interest for the whole world which justifies Pope's non-secular intervention.

Looking from my ethical perspective, Trump voters are manipulated by same non-secular indoctrination since their childhood so why pope would not be able to do the same. In the end, most Trump voters are peasants; so I do not think there is any objection to the notion that their opinions are dogmatic ,therefore cannot be changed with rational arguments.

Trump supporters are mad on Twitter and calling the pope an unholy liberal, he's got them pressed

They either think notion of liberalism is the same all around the world with american ones or have no idea what liberalism means (liberté/liberty). In both cases, level of illiteracy is suffocating.  :air:

Your argument is about how his politics is stupid but that doesnt mean he is racist! He doesnt want to get rid of Hispanics, he wants to get rid of illegal Hispanics or any other illegals in the country. He doesnt have to criticize whites because he never criticized latinos in the first place. The definition of racism you posted clearly doesnt apply to Trump!

:saladga: Okay, stay ignorant. I mean he did hire a Hispanic to support him in his rally in an attempt to look as if he appeals to them but okay.

Hiring Hispanics to make yourself look more appealing to them is not racist!

I never said it was :rip: If you actually read what I wrote you'd see that I stated that he needed to hire a Hispanic so that it looks like he is supported by Hispanics and Latinos.

I know he does that but what does it have to do with our conversation?

The fact that he knows that he needed a stunt to gain the support of the people who he offended and lost support of because of.... HIS RACISM.

This Pope has the right idea and message, for to long Christianity has suffered from ignorant people spreading hate in the name of God. No wonder religion and Christianity is dwindling. No one wants to associate with a group of hateful people who claim to be of the Christian faith.

Now people are starting to see Christianity in a good light and not want to run from it. Thanks Pope Francis, don't let trump ruin your hardwork!

lol I dont know how you came up with that conclusion.. maybe hes just a narcissist that has to be right all the time.. maybe he believes that the media lied about his statements and wanted to make himself look better.. there is many reasons but accusing others of big things like racist based on your assumptions is not ok!

Why dont he call out his own church for not being true christian instead.. and what kind of pope or religious leader calls people out on their personal faith?

Edit: Also Trump said that illegal mexican immigrants are rapist he did not said mexican.. weather thats true or not doesnt matter cause what he said was not racist. Im a Muslim and what he said about Muslims was not racist as he said we must temporarily not allow muslim immigrants (not all muslims) until the US fix the system to make sure who is getting in and then they are allowed to get in and this is exactly what Angela Merkel is doing now witch nobody seem to have a problem with that.

Honestly I don't see why you don't consider calling Mexican illegal immigrants rapist as not racist? This is like generalizing and holding a stereotype toward a group of people based on their origin, what is not racist in this? The issue with what he said about Muslim beside the fact it is  discriminatory is it's impossible to put in practice, he did insist on a total ban and how is he going to check the religion of all people entering? Maybe some countries do state religion on ID but a lot don't. And anyway discriminating people based on religion is illegal. We actually analyzed some of his speech in a sociolinguistic class when we talked about racism and how people deny their racism or racist comment, it was quite interesting and even in his apology speech regarding Mexican he was still ****ing racist....besides, his grammar is worth than mine...
