What would you change with the Bowie Tribute?

If I was in charge of directing a tribute (that would pander to the GP) here's what I would've done:

It would basically be an homage to the Heroes music video. I would've had Gaga standing in one spot in the center of the stage, without any live musicians or elaborate stage sets, dressed in something like this but full of sequins (and with the lightning bolt on her face and what-not)

The only accompaniment is a piano and some strings. She starts off with Life On Mars. After singing the end of the chorus, she moves right into Starman, and as she sings there are holograms of galaxies and stars swirling around her (if that's even possible).

She finishes off with Heroes, and the last shot of her is something like this:

And as she fades out, she looks up, and Bowie's face gets projected onto the screen above her and she gets a standing ovation.

It's very somber but I think the GP would've adored it.

She also needs actual choreography and not just jittering about.

That's intentional. She never did that before and I believe that's how David used to perform.

I loved the tribute, it was great. If anything I needed a more vulnerable moment and the band was a bit loud at some points.

I like PunkTheFunk’s concept.

My idea:

Different outfit, More like the one she wore on the red carpet, but lighter, reminiscent of the life on Mars costume

1) In the small circular stage:

Starts the same way with the live face projections and “Space Odditty”. Then she sings  the first verse and chorus of  “Life On Mars”, during the chorus, an holographic explosion of stars like the one seen in the mini-documental.

2) Walking to the main stage:

First Verse of “Lazarus”.

3) Main Stage:

First verse of "Ziggy Stardust". Finishes with “Heroes”. Here the tech appears again with the Bowie hologram. Gaga plays the dancing piano

Free My Mind

would make changes to the song lengths

Space Oddity: The right length I would say

Changes: increase length

Ziggy Stardust: increase length

Suffragette City: the right length

Fashion/Fame mashup worked for me

Let's Dance perhaps a bit longer and would have been nice to hear a verse of Under Pressure

Then conclude with the whole of Heroes.

but then it would be 15 mins long haha

Gaga on a piano belting out a tune wonderfully is something I've been missing. Would have been very heartfelt.

I also think the performance felt rushed. Perhaps some more space between songs and a bit of a slower tempo.

omfg this. This would have been the most beautiful, perfect, stunning way to remember Bowie.

The performance was great but it was a shame the songs were all cut down.

Was I the only one hoping she'd break into a Fancy Pants verse when she started singing Fame? Lol

Her outfit made her look like elvis, the stage was too crowded, too many songs.

Are you kidding? That's how she was throughout the ARTPOP era.

Ditto!

Gaga get your common sense back, we know you have it in you.
