For example, look at 1:05 of this video where it's clear the holography is encircling the stage.... There were a number of problems with trying to present this to the tv audience: 1. TV is a 2D medium 2. Telephoto TV lenses flatten the field of view. 3. The camera crew was clueless how to shoot it and did too many close up shots that didn't give a sense of space. So to those of us in TV land, an immersive 3d experience ended up looking like a standard background screen video. Personally, I mostly blame CBS for apparently not even trying to give us a feel for the experience. The cameras were never used in a way to give a sense of the effect.
