I am shocked at these numbers.. I thought she had more hits.. Guess not.

She had a career in the eighties and nineties, don't forget.

Music was a huge hit and spent over A MONTH at #1. It's true that since the "anti patriotic" American Life, she never fully bounced back in the US. But Confessions was a MAJOR hit outside of the United States. Hung Up is considered her biggest hit ever and went #1 instantly (pretty much) EVERYWHERE except for the US.

Madonna's "singles decline" has almost the exact same timeline as the rise of the internet. In 2007 she saw the writing on the wall and she signed a MAJOR touring deal. She's an incredible touring force, so that's where she's making her money from. Music sales are dead, everyone is "flopping" if we're going to consider Adele and Taylor's last sales "the standard" for music releases. Sales are over. Massive hits don't necessarily go #1. Bad Romance was blocked from #1 with TikTok, but guess which song stood the test of time? Drunk In Love never went #1 but was a major hit...

Madonna saw the future in 2007 when she decided to focus on touring instead of record sales. That's why she's still here making headlines and her peers are either dead or somewhat irrelevant.

Ah ok, I wonder what she'll do. Could she just buy it out or something? If she does I'd love for it to be like a reflection of her glory days. That'd be amazing.

Yeah, unless someone knocks her with a bit of reality. She needs to see that it's not about the commercial success sometimes. I'm also unsure if the radios would be willing to play her singles after the ageism garbage.

I think radios will never play her music again. If she goes like ROL for a next (or final) album she might be on the top again bc of her age and that ****.

Oh. :green:

I don't know what else to say about it tbh. So, I just said that. I don't know all that much about Madonna. I like a few of her songs and such, though. Seeing her in tour seems fun.

Floppy USA dragging her to hell and back after American Life is the blame for the dust Confessions and everything after else was paid.   :crossed:  :crossed: :crossed:

The music video version of "What It Feels Like For A Girl" is one of my Top 5 fav Madonna songs.

American Life is my second or third favorite Madonna album, and look at the reception it got!

Hung Up Sorry took the world by STORM in 2005. Both songs were everywhere. What the hell happened in USA? Hell, Hung Up in considered to be her biggest hit ever! It's in the Guinness World Records as the song topping the charts in most countries (41)

Mess at Give It 2 Me being only one week in the chart, peaking at #57. Same with Celebration, at #71

I am shocked to see Hung Up and Sorry so low. Those were the **** back then. I'd expect them to be top 3 at least :noparty:

I can't believe GMAYL charted higher than Sorry. Just no. Confessions is still one of the best albums ever released by a pop artist.

mess at y'all not knowing she's blacklisted on radio:rip:

after AL, she got a ban on most radio stations:rip:

after Hung Up and Sorry flopped on radio, there was a petition to revoke the ban, but only few agreed:rip:

and @DiscoHeaven23 American Pie charted on airplay alone:wtfga:

Lord Temptation

Confessions is the best ever Madonna album. It's her last undeniable masterpiece. "Get Together" is my favourite track, possibly of all time.

Your Charts are very interesting, because they differ so much from the ones in my country. Some of Madonnas Songs were much more successful in Europa than in the US

I find it absolutely ridiculous that Girl Gone Wild and Living for Love didnt chart. Those songs are way better than 90% of the trash on the radio. I dont understand how radio stations can discriminate against her when we're just talking about how songs sound. Those are great songs and they should be played. They should have no attachment to what people think of the artist who made them.
