There is no possible way to calculate the amount of blood this man has on his hands, the amount of suicides and hate crimes which trickled down from his dehumanizing language. He repeatedly compared gay men to murders, animal abusers, and child molesters.  He didn't just "disprove of our lifestyle," he wanted you imprisoned. 

Do yourself a favor, this Valentines Day read Scalia's decent in Lawrence vs. Texas, and think about whether it's worthwhile to spend a single breath defending the life of a man who thought the love you have for your partner was no different then the love a pedophile has for the child he rapes.

Belittling moderators by using homophobic insults like "little bottoms,"and calling other users "scum" surely constitutes receiving a warning as much as disparaging a recently expired bigot constitutes a warning, right?

Not that I'm reporting anyone, just asking for clarification purposes. It seems like some people are pulling the do as I say not as I do card when it comes to using disrespectful language.

He was a strict originalist, he most certainly didn't want gays to be imprisoned.

But wow, a person on a pop culture forum has a lack of class and respect and instead replaces it with dramatization? Shockerrrr...

I'm not complaining; I don't get gratification from people being reported on a pop forum. I would, however, expect at least a fraction of the scrutiny a Katy Perry thread receives for a person that lost their life less that 24 hours ago.

My friends lost their grandfather yesterday -- it's not appropriate or sensitive to be celebrating. It's shameful.

So when you complain about disrespectful language it's on topic, but when you are called out for your own use of disrespectful language it's off topic? Hah.

If you are interested in learning about Scalia's stance regarding states having the right to imprison gay men for having consensual sex I'd check out the book Flagrant Conduct which documents the Lawrence vs. Texas case, or you can leave this site because evidently you are too classy for a pop music forum. Up to you.

We can mourn someone while keeping in mind their mistakes and being critical of them. No one gets amnesty for a day just because they've passed. Peace to his family, but he deserves criticism.

There's a difference between criticizing them and celebrating the death of a beloved family member. 

You don't think I'm critical of some of his views? Of course I am. Despite that, there is virtue in having class and respect, something that the gay community asks the straight community for all the time.

I love how some of the members on here demand respect for minority groups yet are this disrespectful. Have you ever wondering just for a second that people like that are the reason we're so hated?

It's trashy and embarrassing, and it's a shame more people aren't standing up to these members, especially those with authority on this forum.

It's understandable that the oppressed would want to celebrate the death of their oppressor, right? I do agree with you though, taking pleasure in the death of a man is vulgar, no matter who the man was or what he believed. At the same time, we can't hesitate to condemn him. This is a man who used heinous language and his powerful position to demonize the minority which you and I belong to. (Assuming you are gay.)

I mean he's quite a few words that would get me warned on here, and I can see being somewhat happy, but people are acting like it's the legalization of gay marriage all over again
