To me, Beyoncé is a very overrated BRAND. Yes, she (they) record catchy music and the dancing is nice and all, her live performances are good because she can sing, but I don't get why people see her as the next God, but that's part of the marketing stuff that they do about her name. It's always about making Beyoncé look like royalty, when she's just another performer.

Her music is catchy, but ever since Run The World, it seems like the more writers she gets, she less creative the lyrics are. But I respect whoever is a big fan of her, I can see why some people admire her, but it's just not my cup of tea most of the time. I do enjoy some of her songs, but really, calm down people, it's just music.

Sometimes when an artist has achieved something big, they just want to record music for fun. Madonna has done it, and Beyoncé has been recording "fun" music recently, Run The World, 7/11, the new song, etc. all of those trappy random songs, but I guess they're fun at parties and stuff.

Honestly, as an unbiased observer, I actually like the direction she's heading artistically. More IDGAF. Less Pop. More wild and weird and freaky and unabashedly sexual. I like it. For most of the early part of her career she focused on cementing herself as a pop icon. Now that she's wealthy and a famous celebrity, it seems like she really doesn't give a f*ck and is doing whatever she wants and is releasing music simply for the sake of it being fun.

That's the best time to be an artist, I think. Creatively free and in control (and with the fund-age needed to produce your work).

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."
