how am i being "needlessly rude"? maybe to @Tropico and if that's the case than i apologize, maybe my lack of emotes makes it look like i'm mad?

I see beyonce as egotistical because though Rihanna loves to be confident and strong (see: hard, needed me, etc), the songs themselves are always better (that's just my opinion) and she does it in a more tasteful way. beyonce repeating "i slay, i slay, i slay, etc" and "bow down bitches" isn't just being confident, it's redundant and really shows her superiority complex. plus beyonce has been continuously releasing these type of songs (7/11, flawless, bowdown, formation, etc) so it's kind of old anyways.

Laughing without actually responding to me as if what I said was completely dumb, saying I'm pulling arguments "out of my ass", basically saying I have no life/too much free time, "y'all are a damn mess"... If you can't see how that's rude in comparison to your latest post which is perfectly reasonable and helped me understand your point better then I have nothing else to say to you lol. Don't get why you couldn't have just said that in the first place without dragging it over this entire page in a way that frankly came across as condescending and yeah rude.

Like now I understand your point even if I don't necessarily agree with it but it's fine... That's much easier than all the petty stan **** that you kept trying lol I was just trying to talk to you.

Is the issue here actually to do with the style of the music or are people just unsettled that a black woman is so comfortable in her own skin that she sings about her confidence/sexuality etc? You'd rather she just sing pretty ballads? Because I think that's the whole point, and I doubt she's about to start pandering to mainstream trends and pop-star roles again. Tell me if I'm off the mark but that's kinda how it's coming across to me, it's like she needs to be silenced and go be radio-friendly in her lyrics/sound again.

I haven't seen one reply in this thread that implies anyone is unsettled that a black woman is comfortable in her sexuality. Drunk In Love & Partition were both suuuuuuper sexual, showing off how in her own skin she was. and those songs were loved by like...everyone. Very well received. Idk where the black card is coming from, but no one on here is pulling it but you.

I think some people here just don't like the song.

Some would like to hear something different from her, but that goes for every single artist discussed on this site.

I did read something, maybe not in this thread but the other one, where someone was talking about her being 'overly sexual' or something of that nature. Again, the 'black card' wasn't even something I meant to be a focus of the post but it seems to be the only part that anyone is paying attention to so I guess that's quite telling lol.

And not everyone loves those songs lol she has been criticised for the sexual nature of those songs and the rest of that album in general. And if that's the case, why is that level of confidence a problem now? Maybe it's not just a gimmick she wants to move on from and it's how she actually is? Idk.

I know that. That post clearly wasn't addressed to those people but to the ones who got involved in the discussion and took issue with the things that I was talking about - the fact that it's not more like her 'old' music, the fact that it's very over confident, the fact that she's sexual etc. :)

Yeah, but people always make that comment about the "old music", for almost all artists. When has Beyonce not been over confident and her last album was very sexual. I really don't think that's why people aren't feeling this song.

Well read this thread lol it's specifically about the songs like 7/11, Formation, Flawless etc lol and people do seem to have a problem with that kind of song. Ask them, not me.

I don't know, maybe they just don't care for songs like that. I mean, that should be allowed.

Omg I never said it wasn't allowed :rip: I was just trying to discuss those opinions with people. Not once did I say it was wrong or unacceptable to dislike Beyonce or any of her songs lol. God forbid an actual debate should take place on here.
