I mean, I can see why a lot of people wouldn't like this. It's not your top 40 instant hit. It's pretty experimental and different sounding for a mainstream artist. I like it a lot. I'm sick of most of the redundant **** released these days and "Beyoncé's antics" are refreshing imo. Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

"Her music is not that good" is not a fact, that's just how you feel about it. Let people enjoy what they want without being so small minded to believe that the only valid opinion is yours. i never said that only my opinion is valid lmao i just said what i think, it's ok if you don't like, but don't be rude to me because i haven't been rude to you

You suggested that people only like it because it's "cool", as in you can't possibly believe that anyone would genuinely enjoy it because in your eyes it's bad. Everyone hears differently, don't tell people how they are supposed to feel.

Tropico 4,145
How is this a hit? It is super pro-black (America will not be pleased), it doesn't have a very strong melody and the hook isn't catchy. But this song is great. Beyonce is so comfortable and isn't interested in making radio friendly pop songs like radio anymore. She is just doing as she pleases, being more true to herself than ever. That's what art is about IMO. Expression. She is being her; not what the radio wants her to be. She's confident and it reflects in her music. I love this. ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢

But okay lol

Harry 26,836
Is the issue here actually to do with the style of the music or are people just unsettled that a black woman is so comfortable in her own skin that she sings about her confidence/sexuality etc? You'd rather she just sing pretty ballads? Because I think that's the whole point, and I doubt she's about to start pandering to mainstream trends and pop-star roles again. Tell me if I'm off the mark but that's kinda how it's coming across to me, it's like she needs to be silenced and go be radio-friendly in her lyrics/sound again. Tropico 4,145
Beyonce has a bit of everything. She explores new territories as an artist. She's been changing up her stuff since debut. DiL is old school R&B, B'Day is a mix of dirty south music and pop, IASF is ballads and up tempo pop, 4 is mostly Soul/R&B with some pop influence and BEYONCE is experimental R&B. If she's interested in trap-hop right now, it isn't ridiculous that she reflects that in her music. Music documents a phase in an artists's life (hence Adele titling albums after her age when recording them). This is just who she is. She isn't trying to get a viral hit (and again, nothing about this song would work with the radio, especially considering it is quite vulgar) ♢ Social Justice Enthusiast ♢
