Gaga's Pre-Era Is Bigger Than Some Careers

While I can't say it is a fact, I do get what you are saying, and with some artists, that is probably true. The ones you mentioned have had quite a bit of success... but if you compare not their whole career, but only "pre-eras," then Gaga might come out ahead on this one. It is when you compare her pre-era to those artists entire careers, peaks, massive success and popularity, then I am not so sure.

But it is very impressive how she has done so much and really showcased her talent and has gotten the attention and acclaim (again?) from critics, media, and GP... During a time where she has no album out!

I can't wait for upcoming performances. (Grammy's, Super Bowl)... I will be so hyped for new music, and so PROUD! I literally can't

Maybe in terms of respect but that's debatable as well. You mentioned Katy Perry and last year she was a headline on SB lol

this whole hopeful atmosphere on GGD slowly steps into delusion field imho. it feels like 2012 all over again. We still don't know what will happen. And acclaim yes it's there but the hate persists as well

This thread is about Gaga slaying without being in the process of selling something. It's specifically discussing how Gaga is getting acclaim despite not having a recent album out. Why do you keep bringing charts and how much albums have sold into this?

Seriously, OP is celebrating the fact that Gaga is accomplishing the kind of respect and recognition that many artists struggle to get when they are promoting a specific album. Can we just celebrate that?

I do agree there's shitty hypocrisy where people claim to not care about charts but then use sales as ammo during a stan war, but when sales go up people don't ignore the acclaim and brag about #1s- they keep talking about the acclaim AND brag about the sales. It's not one or the other, it's just that some of the fans pretend one doesn't matter when we don't have it. (which is embarrassing in itself, tbh)

The part OT leaves out is that the acclaim is coming from her peers. Gaga has the respect of the legends, whether or not her shark-man backup dancer is trending on Yahoo!(tm)

What I don't like about the OP is that it comes with making other artists down. To be honest, if you ask a Belieber she/he will find sources about what bieber has achived and people praising him etc. Same you will find for Katy Perry etc.

I think no one denying Gagas acclaim and celebrating but personally I don't like all that comparing. Like you can be happy about Gagas acclaim without dragging/shading other artists. I don't think it fair.

It's my fault for bring up charts/sales, but Katheryn was slaying without selling anything as well. Her pre PRISM era was hyped and during 2015, she was in the public's attention receiving acclaims/acknowledgment from just performing at the Superbowl and Grammy. 

OP can celebrate however he wants, but is it necessary to drag xyz artists to prove Gaga is like the best thing known to humanity since Jesus? I'm all here for celerabting Gaga's success, if I didn't like her, I wouldn't be here at all, but if someone is attacking my other fave, off course I would get defensive. 

The sane people would be bragging about the acclaims and sales, but to some chart obsessive members/people, they would only use the chart as the main defense.

Well you can't expect some of those artist to get as much praise and acclaim as Gaga since their talent is not really what is giving them the career that they have.
