Tove Lo 2,481
Okay, I just listened to Desperado for the first time. Literally at first listen, I recognized the notes from a different song and I knew exactly what it was. Like it's not even a "it kind of sounds like it" but more of it sounds exactly the same. Go listen to Desperado on your Tidal's or whatever then listen to this If it's a sample, that is perfectly fine because Rihanna and her producer know a great song. But if it's not, Rihanna's producer has some explaining to do. @Paper Gangsta Thanks for bringing up the credits. As you can see here: http://www.discogs.com/Rihanna-Anti/release/8070975 There's no credits for Jillian Banks or Christopher Tyler (aka SOHN, the producer of Waiting Game). hop on that **** like a maniac
Bloody 64,631
Yes actually, the sound is similar indeed.

Iwontell 7,312
Rihanna's song is definitely sampling Banks'...but melodically, the songs are distant enough... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

arthurhmangum 4,408
There's no way of knowing right now. Coincidences happen. There can only be so many tunes in the world, but it does sound the same. Stressed, depressed, but well dressed.
Riot Poof 2,236
I've noticed this too (and I posted about it in that long-ass ANTI thread). It's obviously from "Waiting Game," so I was expecting a sample/interpolation credit, but there's no credit to be found! Thus, I have to say it was copied. I'm not a woman. I'm not a man. I am something that you'll never understand.

skioz 0
I've listened this song and in 1:04:54 starts the same melodic idea on desperado instrumental. This song came out in 2012. I think this case need to be discussed again.
Benji 20,113
I have no idea where it comes from but it's actually a pretty common piece of sound. I have heard an orchestrated/rock version before a show.
