There are going to be Bowie Fans who feel no artist is worthy of performing a tribute to him. It's a mix of ignorance and passion for the artist though. Gaga might be a big Bowie fan, but she didn't (publicly, anyway) have anything to do with his career or any involvement in his life. Admittedly, she is an odd choice for a tribute, given that. However, she's a very talented woman with a lot of respect for David Bowie, and I personally think she'll deliver a beautiful and worthy tribute. SLAYYY Can't get past her old persona? You do know what Bowie looked like in his early career? Gaga copied a lot of his stuff as far as outrageous fashion. Maybe you don't know enough about Bowie to understand what he was about. Because conservative or because they are older would never be the reason for why they might not like her as the only person for the tribute. Considering they wish Iggy Pop was being part of it, someone who was linked with him back in the days and he produced Iggy's album and lived with him in Berlin during that period of creating, says it all. Iggy makes Gaga look like bubblegum pop. I don't think you really understand Bowie fans' musical tastes if you are lumping them as old and geriatric and are afraid of a meat dress or in outrageous outfits singing dance music. Yeah, Iggy is a much more conservative choice is why they wanted him to be part of a tribute, Iggy an artist who dressed in drag. LOL I just think longtime Bowie fans wanted people to also be part of it who had been connected to him through the years, an emotional connection musically to him.
