to be more accurate they should've said it was a "commercial underperformance" because that's better since it debuted with like 250k and the girlies nowadays can't even ship 200k first week now. At least they didn't trash it's sound though.

It's plain to see the pop sphere NEEDS Gaga, because without her it's honestly so boring- but I feel as if when she returns it'll be like Kesha 2.0 in terms of expectations, like how people expect Kesha to return and release more summer dance music bops, but we know she's aiming for rock music, like I honestly expect Gaga to come back and not be as eccentric as people think she'll be, the most eccentric I see LG5 going is the eyebrows made of jewels and stuff she's been doing and some provocative clothing but nothing more tbh. I can't honestly see 2016ga coming out wearing a meat dress, a living dress or alien horns. And it's sad because that's what I feel the media and other fanbases are expecting her to come back as.

Well, her roots were in rock, not pop, and I wouldn't consider ARTPOP a flop, but whatever. I do agree that she does pop incredibly well and her material and performances are very interesting. I so can't wait for this next album!!

Spoiler

Will we ever get that Telephone continuation?

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

She actually is the biggest pop star. I am not talking about sales or tours or idk what, but just as a name, as a brand, as an artist and a performer, she is just recognized everywhere and she has a unique thing going on with whatever she does. So yes, I believe she is the biggest pop star on the planet, who acts and writes and just does a fenomenal job.

Actually, this is one of the most diplomatic, realistic things I've read about ARTPOP in a long time.

I love the album, but many other articles have been saying things like "critical disaster", "massive flop", as if no one liked or bought it, which is simply not true.

Something along the lines of "underperformance when compared to her previous albums" would make more sense. An album that makes it into the top 10 selling albums of the year should never be referred to as a "commercial flop".

If ARTPOP was a commercial flop, then 95 per cent of all the other albums released that year were complete disasters!

I agree :) I didn't express my point concisely enough, but I meant that it was one of the nicer ways to describe ARTPOP's era than I've seen recently. Most other articles carry on as if it was a complete disaster.

Forbes is literally incapable of mentioning Gaga without feeling the need to call ARTPOP a flop first. I'm so over that damn Magazine.

they just want to make the story sound more dramatic and prepare people for her "comeback" (yes, I know coming back from 2M albums sold and a multiplatinum hit single such a flop lol)

live each day like Gaga might drop an album

She's an established artist. Only scanning gold, ARTPOP was and still is a commercial failure.

Any album that can get certified are successful in my book I'll understand if it only sold 378,000 in the u.s and 1,000,000 worldwide then that would be a commercial failure but it has sold Almost 3 million copies worldwide I know alot of albums that done sold 500,000 Copies in the u.s but be consider a success but her album sales 746,000 Copies Its a failure & plus we don't have any ARTPOP Sales update the album was successful in my book ARTPOP just don't meet the standards her previous releases did but ARTPOP Sold enough copies to be a certified Album worldwide

It's so interesting to see ARTPOP considered a flop (it could be considered so, in relative terms), when it actually did fine- great even.

It's a true testament to how large Gaga was in her peak, and how large she was even in her dip. May she always be with the music world.

3 points in and ready for more
