Koreku 2,387
At least this takes the heat off of Gaga's amazon deal. You don't deserve a point of view if the only thing you see is you.

sursumd 44
How many times do people in the industry have to say it before the public understands? Unless you're a fat british girl named Adele....Record sales are DEAD. ... GONE. Pretty soon the RIAA will start certifying for legally available free downloads. Oh look, they already have. Welcome to 2016. Enjoy your free music from a pop icon megaforce who has made a $100 million dollar fortune off of the music industry and actually understands the business. The only thing embarrassing is a bunch of uninformed people acting like they have 2nd hand embarrassment for a situation they haven't even begun to wrap their heads around. How can anyone stan for her? i'm sorry sweetie but how exactly is Rihanna a fraud? she found a way to not only get her COINT (because Samsung paid for 1 million albums) AND get her music heard (because literally everyone downloaded it) AND be one step ahead of the music piraters. if anything, LEGEND RIHANNA should be praised! Bebe 17,094
She made a marketing deal with Samsung who agreed to purchase her music so that they could offer free downloads. It's just a smart marketing move and with the way records are selling these days it's not such a dumb move either, if artists are not going to be able to make much money from selling albums then this is a great idea on how to profit from an album. I mean great, she made money from people downloading her album for free. With torrents people would have downloaded it for free anyway and she wouldn't have made a dime. Who is the loser in this situation? Her fans get to download her album for free in a legitimate way with guaranteed sound quality and no risk of viruses or fake files and Rihanna doesn't lose a million sales from pirates stealing her music. You can't get pressed because an artist found an innovative way to make money from their music. If anything this should become norm, it could really help the music industry. At the end of the day it's the music business, and to the credit of Rihanna/Roc Nation they have found a way to make money in a way that is beneficial to both themselves and their consumers. The music world must be the only place where consumers would complain that they are getting access to a product for free.

So what does that mean? Why did Samsung buy 1 million copies? To resell? And this counts as album sales? That does seem a little unfair... Can someone please explain the "similar" situation with Gaga? Was it with ARTPOP? And who bought copies/how many, etc? did someone reply yet or should I explain? don't wanna look thru all the pages xd
Mariano 958
There were already reports last year about Roc Nation trying to make Billboard count the free albums so the album looks a success. I will try to find it.
