Like 60% of the forum is SO pressed about its underperformance. Last night there was this truly pathetic thread. "ARTPOP who? ANTI is the new ARTPOP. ANTI the messiest mess to ever happen" I doubt many listened to the album before juming and stabbing. The growth of Rihanna is ever present in the album and this solely makes it a very good if not excellent accomplishment. Sure it doesn't have the usual bops but the intention of the album was exactly to escape from the typical release RiRi had been doing for many years. Let me say some things said here were absurd - Rihanna made sure she will have ANTI platinum cause Samsung bought the first 1 million copies. WTF?! Just a quick reminder - 1 million platinum certification happens only on US territory. The album is available worldwide. So they cannot count downloads as US only. And actually, I don't think the album is even eligible to chart in this gratis Tidal-exclusive period. The whole thing must've been planned months ahead of release. Also if you watched ANTIdiaRy you would have understood the story of her becoming independent and taking responsibility of her career. She took control by being her boss, the album is released through her own label which is part of Roc Nation. She obtained ownership on all her recordings from previous eras, so she truly OWNS her music and no label or management can do whatever they like with the music without her. ANTI being free is just a reward to all the patience from her fans. She knows she messed up, maybe she doesn't care a lot, but I think the whole idea is quite rewarding. She is also happy with her album, she be getting them coins from Samsung for promo and the tour and remains unbothered. It's amusing how all that our forum claims to preach was forgotten in a mere second when it comes to another artist. Music not the bling, we tend to say, and when someone else did it, the majority got pissed. Stop the drama. Start the music? Not today! Not ever! Not on GGD! Anyway, I feel like some of us are winners, cause we're able to enjoy the music without all the fuss surrounding it for commercial success. Let me pop my рussy to Woo and Yeah I Said It. Then rock my body to Consideration and Work (funny how this song actually works well in the album). Then I will have my 100th eargasm with Kiss it Better, Love on the Brain and High. I'm more commenting on the recent threads (multiple, more than necessary) that have popped up in the past day or so. Regardless, so many people on here act hypocritical (sometimes myself) when it comes to attacking albums they call "flops". I'm not defending ANTi at the least, it was a messy, ugly, tragic era, but this constant nitpicking and pestering over a this give me 2013, ARTPOP teas.
