I personally would not have paid for the album, just would have waited for it to end up on Spotify (unless it's Tidal only). Will all the downloads be reported as sales? Plus a possible album concert ticket bundle. (Although the article doesn't actually say that Samsung purchased ANTI downloads only that it will cover promotion costs of 25 million.) That album could be certified double platinum in less than a year. Sounds like good management. Why are people calling it a mess? If only Interscope and Lady Gaga's team did this with ARTPOP, the album would be double platinum. That means it will have heavier promotion than just the money her record company spends on promotion and since this article is old (10/29/2015) it includes all the ads we have been seeing with Samsung and Anti. The threads title is a bit deceptive because no where in the actual article does it say that Samsung purchased Anti downloads. It's going to be difficult for this album to reach even platinum, especially with such weak choices for singles. I'm glad Interscope didn't do this. Gaga's 99 cent deal still counted on Soundscan. Remember too, that those ninety nine cent downloads ended up being less than ten percent of her overall Worldwide sales. Anti is not going to end up selling 20 million copies. This first week giveaway will more than likely make up a large portion of her total sales.
