She sounds drunk :wtf: and it took how many writers to make this song?

I hope the style of the teasers and visuals from her ANTI diary site actually show in her music instead of sounding generic like Work. It'd be awesome to see her do something different and darker.

Cold as ice cream, but still as sweet.

How's this experimenting? It's a house-y beat and she repeats work 4878374 times obviously intending for it to be catchy

NME.com describes "Work" as song with underground vibe that's what I'm talking about when I'm sayin' "experimental. She obviously does sth different to her previous works. Repeat a lyric doesnt mean always catchiness and commerciality  it can be also minimalism

Awakened M

Not lead single worthy at ALL. I'm not feeling it, Rih.

I'm not getting any sleep tonight because I woke up to a beautiful life. I'm awake.

I think the hype/expectation is a big part of why some are disappointed.  I am kind of liking it to be honest.  Might take some more listens to really get into it though.

I too was a bit underwhelmed given that this is Rihanna's comeback single, but after BBHMM and AO, anything seems better.

It's dancehall inspired which is nothing new for mainstream pop music or Rihanna. It's extra auto tuned with barely recognizable lyrics at time... Sorry buddy but if she has an experimental album this isn't reflective of that.

I took my time with this song, as I have found some of Rihanna's work flavorful in the past. This is what I've established so far:

The song is not special, but it has potential. It's definitley a little generic, and seems almost forced, but it's definitley not a bop til' you drop tune. BBHMM tried to be something you could pop to, but this is more like a slow jam.

Overall: I'm dissapointed,

but it's what I expected. She most likly new that she was hyping un-hype material and felt in the crosshairs, now she's just given up.

Are there people that really like this song? :awkney: I honestly think that Pretty Girls is a MASTERPIECE compared to this song
