It's not shade either.

Prismatic

There is no proof that her recent post on Twitter is her future lyrics or anything. The reach with you guys...

And I know what you're trying to get with this thread. This forum is dedicated to Gaga and 90% of the Bottoms are still pressed about what happened, so off course they want to see her flop and throw some shade here and there.

You're like Emiga/Medonster but your main target is Katheryn. I hate certain artists too but I don't create threads here and there and posting in various topics about them saying how much they such. If I don't like a certain artist, I'll say it once and thats it. If any future threads about that artist is created, I would just look and keep my opinion to myself.

Anyway, KP4 will be be successful because she just got off a diamond single, record breaking tour and superbowl performance.

I'm not trying to sound mean, but Katy Perry offers only one thing- Performance. She's not known for vocals, or her writing. It's simply the tame aesthetics and catchy tunes. She is the epitome of the POPSTAR. Just like Britney and Christina. For the most part you  could call her family friendly- Minus a few songs of course (peacock lol). But she offers nothing new. I really believe with her last album she peaked. I would be surprised if she were on top with this next album. But who knows. We have a tendency to worship commercialized popstars.

It depends on your definition of success. I think getting out of her box and making an album that is not her usual stuff is a big success for her as an artist regardless if you sell a lot of album/singles or not. I think it will be a success.

I still won't buy it though just because when it comes to KP, I like a few songs but not the whole album. Just my opinion.

"I also think it’s important for me to maybe start reinventing myself. Because I can’t keep topping myself because I’ll just combust at some point. You can’t keep topping yourself when you’re at such a height. There’s only one Mount Everest and once you’ve reached it, it’s like where do you go from there?"

First of all, if Gaga said that, she'd be dragged to hell and back...

:awkney:

Now Katy, I think she has had a lot of success in recent years, so even mild success might be perceived as a failure for her, which is kind of a hard situation...she comes in with the "obligation" of delivering amazing numbers - or at least of matching what she achieved with prism.

At the same time, people seem to be really open to her and her music. I'm very aware that her kitschy persona and pragmatic approach to music, which I often find off-putting, is what makes her such a huge star - so maybe "reinventing" herself isn't a great idea - and I really don't think people are that tired of it...so if she keeps everything as it is and delivers Teenage Dream 3.0, she might be very successful. Save the "reinvention" for when it's really needed.

ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.

Whispering

It will be a success if she goes back to the same old formula...same writers, producers, bubble gum image, cute inoffensive songs...since that will appeal to all the little girls, tweens and their moms.

If she actually tries to expand her artistry and brand and takes a chance at something different, it could go either way. But, if she doesn't take this opportunity now to break out of her "songs for girls and their moms" cutesy mold, it will be too late. It may even be too late now.
