i know where your coming from. the lyrics are a bit hollow but it's real and raw; its based from her experience. even Sia didnt expect it would be a hit and she admit she just wants to write pop music for money and not make music for herself nor have a tour to promote it. she said that 1000 fof might be her last album dedicated for her fans but then the wheels have turned after her 12 step rehab then rest is history..the gp  likes her cuz she's real and cmon, you cant deny the uniqueness and versatility of that voice

It's just so sad to see people liking her for her new stuff when in reality she has a strong indie background and she just does pop music for money (which i respect because that's her job. Gotta make money).

I've been a Sia fan for a long time now and I can say that 1000 forms of fear or This is acting is nowhere near as good as We are born or Some people have real problems. Yes, she is insanely talented and to me, she has the best voice in this industry but that does not change the fact that her music is just not as good and as original recently. It all sounds so generic to me. I got bored of 1000 forms of fear in 6 months but I'm still listening to We are born ever since it came out (2010) and never got bored. I hope I made my point without offending anybody since it's so easy to do around here lol

You know she has 4-5 other albums beside that but of course you would just choose to complain about the lyrics from one song to prove your point which is pretty invalid

She isn't overrated, nor are her lyrics shallow and superficial. In fact, they're very profound and are actually great metaphors to describe her experiences in life. 

I mean, when you first listen to Poker Face, are you inclined to believe it's a song about her bisexuality? Look at songs like Dressed in Black, Reaper, Little Black Sandals, Fire Meet Gasoline, Soon We'll be Found, Alive, and so many other songs. The lyrics are powerful and the messages are amazing. 

Not to mention, she's also an amazing vocalist—in my opinion. Some people hate that her voice cracks, I however, absolutely love it. It gives her songs more character and a unique personality. Not to mention, she's not just another pop star showing off his/her body just to get attention, she's an incredible singer, and in my opinion, and underrated singer in the industry.

It is kind of sad, I love her older songs (Soon We'll Be Found, The Girl You Lost to Cocaine, Buttons, etc.) however, I prefer her newer stuff, especially with "This Is Acting". 

But Dressed in Black does have a special place in my heart, it's a fantastic song.

Yeah, I saw her in concert years ago and she was sooooo good. And I like some of her newer songs, but I get annoyed when a certain portion of an artist's work gets largely ignored when a mainstream audience gets into them.

Exactly my point. She was an indie artist and now she is a mainstream pop girl and people act like she didn't exist before Titanium. It's just not fair to her previous work. I do like some songs from her new records tho just not as much as I like her old stuff

She is not terrible, but nothing about her makes her a stand out. She is just someone that I hear on the radio.
