People THINK Iggy doesn't respect the rap genre, but she does. they dont do their homework. Actions speak louder than words. I don't care if she says she has respect for rap and Black culture and posts a tweet like and then calls herself a "runaway slave master" in one of her songs. And I'm reaching when I say she can rap because she can't. Girl bye Spoiler LOL it's nothing personal, I just don't like Iggy

She inserts her blue contacts and brushes her long, straight, platinum blonde wig. Her skin glows white with foundation. She adjusts her breast implants in her tank top and squeezes her butt implants into a pair of tight jeans. Then she picks up her phone to tweet that she was snubbed by the VMAs because the media favors white-friendly images and supports negative body images." While nicki maybe be a "contradiction" she actually got to where she is with her talent and hard work.

Iggy was in a room with BLACK MEN when they told her to include the lyrics. Barbie elitist - Weaboo - Sissy

The funny thing about this whole lyric is that Maclemore are too using black music to their benefit... Maybe they are stating that they are doing it in a original/good way compared to this other people? Don't know. but it's still "stealing" when they are doing the same thing Trying to be controversial?
PunkTheFunk 123,508
Sorry to be the resident social justice warrior but some of you need to learn what cultural appropriation means and understand that it doesn't work both ways. In this society a black woman has to work so much harder than a white woman to get the same amount of recognition. Sad but true.

Morphine Prince 102,182
He didn't diss them. You people seriously don't get it? Mackelmore is accused of the same stuff. Difference is he's acknowledging his privilege in this song and the first White Privilege song he made. Iggy and Miley aren't evil for this, it's just a fact. The fact that you're all asking "What did Elvis do?" speaks miles. Rock N' Roll was originally a black genre. So was jazz (it used to be called ni66er music). I know people who think jazz is "old white people music." This is kind of what Azealia Banks was talking about. She fears Rap/Hip-Hop will be hijacked by white people. Also, this is the SECOND song about this, he didn't just come up with it to be trendy all of a sudden.
grenziel 538
I hope this is satirical because I watched him on this radio show where he gives a very strong point about the issue of black culture appropriation but he seems serious .. Some of them want to abuse you, some of them want be abused.

Everyone does and say stupid things at a young age, or any age and it takes people calling them out for them to learn. Obviously Iggy has learned and that's why she apologized and hasn't said anything like those since. Also, if I may add, Iggy still performs the "slave master" song but now she replaces those lyrics with something else. hop on that **** like a maniac

Once she stops rapping in her "blaccent" I'll be fully convinced. It just seems strange. A white person is not allowed to rap or to do anything affiliated with what is classed as 'Black culture' because they don't care about about black struggles? That sounds as silly as saying 'You aren't allowed to wear a rainbow jumper because you're not gay and you don't understand our struggles'. Surely these artists should be praised for wanting to take inspiration from and putting 'Black culture' in the media even more? More than Nicki anyway who puts the contradictory 'white-image' into the media. Also, in order to really look at this were going to need to categorise what exactly is 'Black culture' and what is 'White culture' because there aren't glaring ways to differentiate the two. When will white people stop getting generalised as racist for something their ancestors did a long time ago that we too feel as equally disgusted in. Understand not all white people feel this way but not all black people are fighting for equality either.
