Amy Schumer exposed (RIP career)

My all time favorite comedian is Lisa lamponelli. She is without a doubt one of the funniest people I've ever seen. I live for vulgar, offensive, line crossing, inappropriate humor, and she embodies all those things, and then some. Amy is funny, but like, normal every day I have friends like this kinda way, but nothing spectacular

I'm not aware of Wendy and I think I've only vaguely heard Tammy's stand up, but Kathleen is hilarious! Especially her Lewis Black stories. I can't see her making this up, so she must have genuinely thought this. It's troubling to me because I enjoy Amy's comedy, though I can see how she could really rub people the wrong way. She has no filter and isn't as diplomatic as Kathleen.

I enjoy women in comedy more than men, to be honest, but I like people from both sides. Kathleen Madigan, Amy Poehler, Tina Fey, Natasha Leggero, Wanda Sykes, Kristen Schaal, Sarah Silverman, Kathy Griffin, Patton Oswalt, Louis C.K., Lewis Black, Bill Burr, Daniel Tosh, Gabriel Iglesias, Ron White, Eddie Murphy, Robin Williams, Steve Martin are all some of my faves. Some are controversial because of language, or lack of apparent filter. Others are more family friendly. Most I've found have very similar lines of thinking. What makes it all unique to a specific comedian is usually the specific language used (like a catch phrase or favorite word, or made up word), and/or presentation. Ron White usually appears drunk. That's his shtick. Robin Williams did great impressions/voice work and tended to talk really fast. Stuff like that tends to personalize the stand up a bit more by giving it a unique style. I don't think I've seen anything that Amy's done that resembles Kathleen's work, but I haven't seen much physical stand up from both (just listened to them on Spotify or Pandora).

Just repeat to yourself, "It's just a show. I should really just relax."

My favorite too! Often I feel bad admitting it. She can be so harsh. Lol

@fobbyassLM Listen, I had time to think about my actions and I'm truly sorry. I lost my temper with you, but I honestly didn't think anyone would take my posts that seriously. I was being extremely sarcastic in my responses but I'm really uncomfortable leaving that bad of an impression on anybody. My original post, as I see it now, was in bad taste. I'm just angry at her (Amy.)

However, my opinion on Amy Schumer do not change. She makes "jokes" that are racist, sexist, and "jokes" about rape. I don't tolerate it, especially when she has white privilege.

Here's more info on why I dislike Amy: http://everythingsaproblem.tumblr.com/post/122850374436/amy-schumer

@Doogi@LebaneseDude@Harry And I apologize, had I offended any of you. Again, not my intentions.

Thank you for apologising, that takes balls and people don't do that often on here. It's hard on this site to have regular debates without them turning into arguments so I never wanted you to be that angry just because we disagreed on something.

With regards to the actual topic (if you want to continue discussing it) I'm pretty sure that blog you used as a source to describe your frustrations with Amy is quite literally a joke lol. I scrolled through some of their other posts and I think it's a parody of Tumblr "SJWs" types... I mean look at their Star Wars post:

http://everythingsaproblem.tumblr.com/post/135991154911/the-force-awakens

They mock Jezebel's headline about women in the film "This was a very good point; after all, who can forget Princess Leia doing literally nothing but giving birth and dying in the original trilogy? Remember the controversial “preggers Leia makes cookies barefoot whilst hanging out on Endor waiting for the menfolk to come home” scene? Shockingly retrograde, even for 1983." - which if you've seen the original trilogy you know wasn't the case at all lol.

And this... http://everythingsaproblem.tumblr.com/post/132679103131/everything and this... http://everythingsaproblem.tumblr.com/post/132541224666/spooning

But regardless of that I know that the content of that post is how a lot of people feel about Amy and similar comedians and it's not ridiculous like those examples. And that's fine and I know I'm not gonna change anyone's mind about it cos it's obviously touchy stuff but here's the way I see it. It's so tempting now to call anyone a racist but I think using that term all the time devalues the severity of people who actually are racist.

I don't want everyone to find those jokes funny if it makes them uncomfortable but I don't think it reflects on the character of her or anyone who likes her for laughing. It's all basically just shock value. I think it's the fact that everyone - including her - knows that what she's saying is completely wrong and that's why it's funny. It's not the actual idea of all Latino men being rapists, for example, that people actually think is funny. It's the audacity and balls of her actually saying those things. When you listen to her speak it's clear that she's very socially aware and informed, so I really think it is as simple as her making a joke.

Besides, in her stand-up, her show or movie, regardless of what she says about other ethnicities, men etc, the biggest joke is always her. She mocks herself more than anybody else, often using the 'white girl' stereotypes to do so. It's not like she spends the entire time making white people out to be the best or anything, it's quite the opposite.

But yeah I just wanted to give my opinion on it. I know that it won't sway anyone's own views but I just wanted you to see it from my side because I think that throwing the 'racist' label around so easily, especially to comedians, is pretty silly.

I think comics steal/borrow jokes from each other much in the same regard Musicians do, but you can only use so much before it becomes unfortunate
