For those wanting to know more about the dress and the technology behind it :)

Despite the creative chaos taking place, this Butterfly Dress is a well-orchestrated design that could change the way people approach fashion.

“It’s an intelligent dress,” said Ezra Çetin, who along with sister Tuba Çetin lead design label Ezra+Tuba. The dress, made from a luxury jacquard interwoven with metallic Lurex fibers, is adorned with about forty butterflies. The dress is embedded with a proximity sensor that allows the butterflies to react to external stimuli.

...

“It is able to detect the presence of an approaching person,” Ezra explained.

At first the butterflies flap slowly, then more fervently whenever a person approaches. Finally, the butterflies can release en masse in a dramatic launch triggered either by the approaching person or via a mobile device communicating with the dress over a wireless network.

...

“The dress is powered by the Intel Edison compute module,” said Tanriover, explaining that Edison is basically a computer — only it’s smaller than a pack of matches. “It just doesn’t have all the peripherals, like the keyboard, screen, etc.”

He said the technology can be programmed to perform user-defined tasks, and it has wireless capabilities and input/output ports that allow it connect to things like servers and sensors.

...

Back in the studio, after the glue has dried, a model shimmies into the dress. Butterflies are secured and poised. It’s impossible to detect the Intel Edison compute module hiding under the shoulder pad. The model makes a motion and signals the release: The butterflies take off. Metamorphosis complete.

Oh, this is gonna be good since I'm a tech geek myself. :flutter: I'm such a fanboy, I swear to god.

Promise I'll always be there. Promise I'll be the cure.

This would be better for a performance.

I feel like she already kinda did a "gimmicky"(I don't mean that in a bad way) red carpet appearance/entrance before, she doesn't need to again. Plus on a crowded red carpet, those fluttering butterflies would probably be annoying af.

I was woundering the same thing. I cant tell if its in reverse or not

i think it's too expensive if the butterflies came back but man would that be awesome if it happened.

the shoulder pad thing with the technology isn't attached to the dress so the haus of gaga can combine it w/ a different type of dress

She REALLY needs to wear something like this

but otherwise, why would Intel spoil it already?

Inb4 gaga wears this at the red carpet but decides not to let the butterflys fly because of creative differences

I hope Intel finds a way to make the butterflies fly back safely. It wouldnt be cool if they just fall out only :air:

if they just fall it will be kinda floppy lol

Then it's not very innovative because it's just a new version of a "launch-platform"

Let's pray they come back, or just a few

+ If gaga wears this at the red carpet, and they drop, someone has to pick them together or clean the red carpet

so if they don't come back it has to be a performance (if gaga is going to wear this someday, but probably it's just an Intel project)

Looks so cool. :flutter: And I think all these emojis and hints with butterflies may have been about this Intel collab not actually about LG5. So I guess the forum can chill now! :emma:
