I did not even express my way of thinking for you to judge it.. I just gave a fact and a prediction :)

Your way of thinking is based on emotions, not logic and thats why you could not even make one argument anyone here that commented! People supported these movements at first because it sounds nice and good witch made people feel better but once you turn that table on these people and start accuse them and everyone of racism, all this will end.

If you go with your logic and way of thinking, im sure you are a racist too.. the favorite thing to do is to sit with people like you and lead you into making a statement that I know is considered racist in your community and start calling you a racist.

It's one thing to disagree about a topic. It's another to gloat about it and dismiss the real problems that people are facing.

Sit down.

He would talk about his friend's feelings because he/she was the one who was affected directly in the situation. I think that was the main criticism people had about this non-issue: they felt like he made it about himself.

Why would he talk about his friend? It's not his business to publicize it. He can talk about how he felt about it though on his account.

The only way I could put myself in that situation is if I were receiving discriminating remarks for being gay and my straight friend said those things. I would not be offended in any way and would appreciate him sticking up for me.

Lets not give white people a reason to be worried about speaking against racism.

In my opinion the intention of his tweets are clear, and it is obvious there is nothing malicious or ill willed in what he was trying to convey, if not a little naive/ignorant.  Yes, it's true he could have worded it better, but this is a 140 character tweet by a 23 year old singer- not a speech at a UN conference on racism: cut him some slack.

If we are going to beat any kind of discrimination, then it'll be done through unity and education, not through hate. If someone is trying to help a cause (especially someone with such an audience) but is maybe going the wrong way about doing so, you help them and educate them on how they can improve, not tare them to shreds on twitter.

Dismiss the real problem? the thread is about Sam Smith being a racism and my comment was about that.

Ok but being an ally and supportive doesn't mean you suddenly erase all instances of being problematic. No one is calling Sam Smith racism, but to turn a racist experience your friend endured into a discussion on how your gonna try and be a white savior is a little iffy. I mean do you think minorities are just supposed to bow down to an ally simply because they're a white person who cares? How do you not get better as an ally if not by being told you're doing something that could be considered problematic?

I cant believe I need to explain this to you but he did not turn what happened to his friend into how he is going to be a white savior! its an experience that he witnessed and he expressed his genuine feelings about what he witnessed. When you make people fear being genuine and force them to calculate their thoughts and emotions or else be accused of being a racist, they will eventually turn on you and your removing the importance on that word. Also, hes is not an ally, he is part of the movement.

THIS IS A NONSTORY ! Gosh, how can be people be SO tremendously stupid!!!

He was just expressing his feelings, isn't that what twitter is ? We people are able to turn the most normal thing into some huge mother****ing problem. :saladga:

His heart was in the right place, he just wanted to point out that there are still racists and he's allowed to have his feelings hurt by seeing that happen, I'm sure it was a spur of the moment tweet so he didn't have time to ask his resident SJW to make sure nobody would be offended

People really wants to drag someone for no reason, he didn't play the victim, he just shared his thought on the situation.

God. Exactly. Seriously everyone is looking for racism in anything? This is s.i.c.k.

Let's just agree to disagree because we're not getting anywhere :)

Take a moment to think of just flexibility, love, and trust~

This is yet another example of when the media (and some "liberal" factions of the public) care more about what is said than what is meant, There is nothing wrong with gaining a new perspective on an issue when someone close to you has been affected by it; his expressing his shock and hurt in no way diminishes his friend's...

Wow. What the ****.

so, when someone doesn't do/say something, people get mad.

Sam is trying to get this message out there, and people are getting mad.

What the **** is wrong with some people. He's popular. He has tons of followers. Of course he's gonna use that fame to get opinions across, because that means more people will listen.

Some of you make me sick

"I'm glad people like you are acting this way because this is how you will end yourselves and your movements".

What is this? This is so unnecessary to say and is dismissive of the real movements out there.

I just want to point out the irony in posting that GIF in an apparently serious discussion about racism. :stalkga:

Im not talking about the movement that is against racism or whats happening to black people.. im talking about this new culture that easily and falsely accuses everyone of sexism and racism to put front their political agenda and are against free speech like in collages that is spreading everywhere.
