Tbh I think a lot of people would react this way. Of course racism is everywhere, but when it explicitly happens to your friend, right in your face (with apparently no help from the police), I'd be somewhat stressed..

'Whitesplaining' IS a problem when white people try to disregard marginalized people's opinions or talk over them but this is a terrible example. SMH this is just people disliking Sam Smith.

There is no issue at all with his tweets. Close & delete this pointless thread. He was shocked and saddened that his friend was racially abused. As we would all be if one of our friends were.

I mean, white(s?)plaining is a thing, but this is barely it. I really only see it in his whole "I have to shine some light on this!" attitude, because obvious racism has never fully gone away, but its kind of subtle. Most of it was generally okay
