giskardsb 12,565
Are ARTPOP haters actually able to argue their point without invectives, derogatives, over the top rhetoric and bullying other users?

I mean, I feel like most negative reputation came from under performance and bad promo decisions from Gaga. The album itself wasn't all that badly received. Some songs like DWUW even made it on list of best songs of the year. Plus, I don't really need metacritic to know that the album is good. I actually wasn't being serious when I made that post otherwise I would have stated "most people that listened to the album would agree with Elton John". I'm just saying you can't really question Elton's opinion on ARTPOP as if it's a fact. Opinions are opinions. Saying Elton is only judging ARTPOP but it's underperformance is not really an opinion but more so a reason to decipher in what way does he think the album is bad. He probably just doesn't like the album at all it's not rocket science.
deeman 189
Its ridiculous to be going to such lengths to say it was bad when you could just appreciate it for what it is and move on but the concept that it was a bad album is very important to them. That is transparent by the manipulation that is used to insist that is was bad without ever explaining the real issue those people have with it. I personally love ARTPOP i don't have an issue with those who don't like it they are not likely to be manipulating the facts, it is the people who are dishonest about why they wish to present this image of it being bad and are so blatent about it. where is the explanation from mr john as to why he thinks it was a bad album? And then we have these ridiculous ones like it was bad coz it sold less than BTW or it was bad coz the public knew it was bad and the majority says so so it must be true. really so amazing that someone would think that such argument is going to pass mustard with real people who have a brain. If he didn't like it he could have said he didn't like it but he said it was a bad album. Maybe he would have said it was "brilliant" if it had been performed nude like he said about Cyrus. I'm entitled to my own opinion just as "elton" is entitled to his Your opinion didn't offend me, per say. I just found it rude that you called Elton an "idiot". You may not like him as a person, but you cannot deny the impact he's had on pop culture and just culture in general. You're completely entitled to your own opinion, just as I am completely entitled to disagree with it. Also, your "Bite me" at the end was sort of asking for it. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎

I agree with Elton John, I thought the album was 'bad' but not 'bad bad' if you know what I mean, it was still enjoyable with some songs. It wasn't up to par with her other albums imo and just felt like her heart wasn't fully into it. But those are just my thoughts I noticed you keep repeating "opinions can be both wrong and misguided." It seems like you're saying his opinion is 'wrong' when it's actually just an opinion? I just fail to see how he must be 'misguided' since it's his thoughts about the album? ⚜ Roll Deep ⚜

VenusBlackStar 1,301
I believe the article quotes him as saying it's not a good album, which rhetorically does actually make a difference from saying it's bad. (This is debatable, of course.) But his statement, in print, sounds professional, and we have to admit that, yeah, there probably are several things he could mean about bad career decisions. I'm sure we could think of a few messy things. And as an album I've always thought of it as the least cohesive of her albums in terms of style and concept. I agree with Elton. He's very much so a mentor in Gaga's life and I've always respected his views on many things. That doesn't keep me from loving ARTPOP though. To me it's not musically good as Born This Way or lyrically as good as The Fame/The Fame Monster, but the one thing ARTPOP has over the others is the adrenaline. I still bop hardcore to it and some of my all-time favorite songs of Gaga's are from ARTPOP Does this need a whole thread though?
