Imo Applause is way better than Btw

I understand personally, but critically and commercially the Six Week #1, at the time fastest selling single, legendary LGBT hit that still gets main play at Pride Festivals worldwide, and song covered by Madonna for a year, Born This Way, says hi. :hor:

Now Elton can't have his own opinion. I'm glad that someone close to Gaga is open to criticizing her. Whether or not it's correct doesn't matter, it's subjective. I'm happy that he is vocal about it and actually can inspire her to strive more.

Sistrens, careful about Elton John's comments.

Remember when he first heard BTW and revealed it sounded like the "I will survive" of this generation? Well, it has NOTHING to do with it!!!! (and thank God for that, can't stand the Gloria Gaynor anthem).

He didn't mean 'sounded like' literally, he meant that as in it is a huge gay anthem... And that's exactly what it is, it is a MASSIVE part of pop culture now, you ant say 'Born This Way' without thinking of Gaga now lol

True, that's what I meant actually: we shouldn't take literally what he says... He may be right about the general feel of the songs but it doesn't mean the end product will sound anything like "Yoü and I" or BR... I want to prevent a few meltdowns early on. :D

Yeah. I honestly think one of the problem pre-ARTPOP esp. during BTWB was that everyone around her agrees to what she says or what she wants.

I think the big problem with ARTPOP era is the fact she was asked for a pop album and she definitely wanted a break from pop music at that time ! A break she finally took in 2014-2015

Like you and I or bad romance. She said she wanted real instruments and authentic sound.

I think she's coming with "no floods" quality.

In my opinion, based on working in the entertainment industry, it's absolutely essential for a project to feel like a cohesive entity. And it's up to EVERYONE involved to ensure that it all comes together to represent the material in a clear and understandable manner.

Nobody on Gaga's team seemed to be on the same page with ARTPOP and that's what lead to its lackluster performance and reception. That's all there is to it. It happens all the time in the business and there is plenty of opportunity to correct those mistakes and move on. While Gaga may never be the spefic type of phenomenon that she was in 2009-2011, she has been able to produce a number of cohesive projects since ARTPOP and she has primed herself, her team, and the public for the release of a more comprehensive album.
