When he says "her early stuff" in a casual conversation/interview, it means the early stuff that the GP is aware of. Most people have no idea about pre-The Fame music, so if he meant that, he'd have clarified for the benefit of the audience.

Double that down with him using a Y&I and BR as reference points and it's pretty clear.

Long story short, he's likely just saying they sound like uncluttered potential mega-hits, like before.

Don't get bent up about the ARTPOP criticism. He wants her to have great, timeless, GP embraced albums. Not all of his have been that every time either. ARTPOP will be known for some of its songs, but not very likely will it be known for its completeness as an iconic work as a whole.

She never said anything like that though. He completely destroyed it. It's very upsetting.

she kinda said it when she said she wants to return to the quality of her first two albums and when she also said that she didn't worked good on ARTPOP (not composing on piano and so on)...

Let's not deny it, Gaga didn't really like that album... At least it felt rushed to her for sure...

For me, BTW is my favorite, but ARTPOP is my second favorite album:flutter:

yeah I think it's underestimated...

But I can understand why Gaga doesn't feel like it's a great album... Especially knowing she hasn't composed a lot on that album... She already said that she was rushed on that one, so yeah ARTPOP is proably bittersweet for her (not talking about the mess era)

ARTPOP is awesome. I could care less about Elton John tbh.

ARTPOP was an album explicitly created for us, the fans/Little Monsters. It was never about commercial success. It was about inspiring us and about Gaga putting out a unapologetic "EDM" album at the height of EDM popularity, a trend which she was directly responsible for elevating (but had yet to release an album of material fully immersed in that production style).

It was, undeniably ---- A FLOP. But that doesn't matter, because it served its purpose. And the production and songwriting is absolutely on par with the rest of her catalog.

Bad Bromance

I expect Gaga to release a pop album with a more mature sound.  I'm really hyped for this album.

The ARTPOP comment was unnecessary, Elton!  Some of us monsters loved it!   :crossed:

I don't care what you think about unless it is about me.

Thanks Elton John for spilling info about the next album. Been hoping for another beat like Bad Romance since forever.

I'm very excited, but also very wary and nervous about this...

I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.

Wow, this is actually very informative about the whole situation from 2013 till the end of 2016!

Funny how I didn't like ARTPOP that much first listen without reading what everyone was saying, and now Elton is agreeing, and even saying that Gaga maybe agrees too. #nohate #justmyears
