AgusPop 4,141
Guys, when Sir Elton John says an Album is "bad", it's actually a good album because he has a bar very high to qualify music. If he had said that "ARTPOP was disastrous", then be worried In fact he never said ARTPOP is "bad", he said "it was not a good album" according to his standard and "She made some bad career decisions" mostly because she was depressed and the whole thing about her Manager. And it's up to EVERYONE involved to ensure that it all comes together to represent the material in a clear and understandable manner. Nobody on Gaga's team seemed to be on the same page with ARTPOP and that's what lead to its lackluster performance and reception. That's all there is to it. It happens all the time in the business and there is plenty of opportunity to correct those mistakes and move on. While Gaga may never be the spefic type of phenomenon that she was in 2009-2011, she has been able to produce a number of cohesive projects since ARTPOP and she has primed herself, her team, and the public for the release of a more comprehensive album. This has me more excited than anything. I'm so ready for something polished to perfection! building a daydream

VforVendetta 2,024
ARTPOP is not a bad album. Elton John disliked the album from the first moment... The album has it's highlights though. I mean Applause, ARTPOP, Venus, Gypsy, Dope are all top of the class Pop songs...
Anderson123 38,380
I really can't believe bashing ARTPOP has become the new trend to promote Gaga's new album. I really really can't believe they just keep throwing **** at that album every time they get a chance. I was one of the few people who was not THAT excited for ARTPOP when it came out and I felt like it wasn't as good as Born This Way. It took me some time to like most of the songs, but I don't think it's a BAD album or something that Gaga should regret doing, I really don't. ARTPOP is better than many other popstars' albums and even discographies. I really can't believe it's getting dragged like that while other bad albums get grammy nominations. Born Brave 2,072
I think he's referring to The Fame esque sound. Heavy real sounding drums, epic synthy bass like on Money Honey, Hard crisp trebles like on Paparazzi, just good sounding production with some funky guitar riffs. Listen to this song, Mark Ronson produced it and I really think LG5 will have a similar sound. It even features Nile Rodgers.
Finneas 792
It seems that Gaga has been working hard on the new album What rescued more of the interview is to be a record with powerful songs (both lyrically and melodically) but with a simpler production. That's fantastic, we could say that is the formula that uses Adele or has been used by other great artists who have created timeless songs. So, Elton would be added to the long list of producers and composers from LG5. They have something in common: they are immensely talented and experienced. I don't know if I'm ready for this (Sorry if my english isn't very good )
Finneas 792
Oh and the comment about ARTPOP hmm is the opinion of him. I don't share it, because I think it's a good record, with catchy songs, incredible production and I also love much of the visual of the era. The defect of ARTPOP are some weird lyrics and of course the bad promotion strategy. But it is far from being a bad album.
E24187 615
It's hard to connect that he's talking about The Fame when he then mentions You & I. Sounds more like pre-Fame if you ask me. And if that's the case, we best prepare for the meltdowns.
