Angelina Jolie comes to mind and Gaga's tattoos are NOT nasty at all, not even when elegantly dressed. Of course I don't agree with her when she says Gaga's tattoos are nasty, but I agree that there are appropriate times to show your tattoos. Obviously you wouldn't have them visible at a professional work place (in this case, an award show primarily for actors and actresses, which she is new to the scene). She wore her tattoos visible to the oscars last year and I thought it was bold and attractive. At the globes this year she opted to cover them up. Its neither good nor bad, appropriate nor inappropriate. She just felt like evoking a different mood with her look. It would've looked good with the tattoos as well, it was just her choice.
