it's when she lost the VMA's I think....

That looks like the AMA Bad Romance/Speechless look from 09. I think it was when she lost her American Music Award!

The academy can't possibly ask for evidence when no one these days has any. It's not like people record their writing sessions frequently (at least not gaga or Diane) especially when the song was already written. And it's unfair to ask for proof just to gaga and Diane, if the are going to play judge, let them Judge all nominees

Diane's song writing contribution to the song isn't questionable. What Diane needs to say to the academy in explicit language, unlike her tweets, is that Gaga either did or did not contribute to the lyrics of the song. Gaga choosing chords and changing the feel of the song earns her a producer credit, not song writing credit.

Quite frankly, this is embarrasing for an artist like Lady Gaga. If the allegations are false, then Linda needs to be blacklisted in the music world.

Also, who is awarded the nomination? The song writer AND composer or just the song writer? If it's the former, Linda can go to hell.

Diane clearly stated on her multiple interviews that gaga changed some chords (which they fought against each other to include or not), lyrics were changed, she changed the feeling, way of singing and presenting the message + produced it entierly on her own. I think that earns her the writing credit.

I doubt that the academy even knows what happened :awkney:

What do you all think "the Academy" is? There are so many qualified voters that most likely keep up with current news and know whats being talked about. It's not like "the academy" is an isolated group of old film nerds that don't know how to work the internet.

Loved her response. She refuted the allegation without directly addressing it and served an important reminder about the message of the song and how silly all this is compared to the very important issue it addresses. :applause:

Donatello

So Perry's comments are true then. Whoever thinks Gaga's response is good one is delusional, she looks weak and pretentious now. No one gives a s*** about 'special' 'incredible' messages lmao (real talk), we're talking about songwriting integrity.

I have no doubt that Gaga produced the song as  we know it. What has been challenged is Lady Gaga's song writing contribution. Diane's admission of Gaga changing chords and a word here and there doesn't mean she wrote the song. The only way to know for sure is Diane saying so…..which she has yet to do. Additional support would be seeing the lyrics of the song presented to Gaga and comparing that to the lyrics Diane and Gaga presented to the world.

Writing a song is not only writing the lyrics. She appears as a co-written, meaning she didn't even lyrically wrote the most important aspects of the song. And posting the old lyrics would add more fuel to the already inferno, unfortunately....and I have a feeling that Linda didn't lie entierly when she said there was only one line changed

Wait so was Gaga listed as a main songwriter or co-writer? Because I've seen people saying she was submitted as a main song-writer? I do believe Gaga was a co-writer, meaning she was more of an editor to personalize for her (such as changing lines/words and the title). I have trouble believing she was a main writer. That suggests she and Diane sat together and re-wrote the whole song start to finish which we all know didn't happen. And unfortunately, I feel as though there's some truth to Linda's allegations as well. And that severely disappoints me in Lady Gaga as well as Diane. They both know better. Integrity > Oscar

Don't know if anyone's brought this up yet but I think it's relevant to the whole "changed one line" debate

She's listed as co-writer and producer. Many believe that Diane was just using gaga for her start power to get another nomination and possibly win this time. I don't find that impossible honestly. I don't care if gaga was credited as a main songwriter cause I know she (don't know bout Diane) isn't doing it for the Oscar. You can tell the subject is sad for her and it really affects her. It became personal to gaga so I know it isn't an award gimmicks on her part

And now she retweeted something completely unrelated.... She's basically over it

But I'm only a man and I do what I can.
