She's an accomplished songwriter with a repertoire of quality songs to her credit. Gaga and Diane don't have to go public, but without contradicting evidence and testimony to Linda Perry, a nomination can easily be revoked. Saying "well her name is in the credit" is not enough. Linda is a dog for doing this at this time though. It makes her look salty that a) she waiting till after the Oscar noms rather than the initial release of the song to "spill the tea" and b) her own song wasn't nominated. The academy can't possibly ask for evidence when no one these days has any. It's not like people record their writing sessions frequently (at least not gaga or Diane) especially when the song was already written. The Academy has no say, they take whoever is listed as the songwriters on the song registration. Diane and Gaga agreed to split songwriting credits, because Diane thought Gaga's contributions were worthy. Assigning credits is purely up to the parties involved, and credit can be given for lyrics, melody, song structure and important musical contributions.
