Linda Perry: Gaga didn't co-write TIHTY

I think that that is a really warped view of this. If Dianne wanted to use someone to spread the message, she could have chosen many other people who are equally, if not more popular with the GP than Gaga was at the time they did this song together.

Sistrens, what's done is done, try to see the the positive side: the song is getting massive exposure right now, maybe more people will be interested in hearing it and radios will start playing it more, who knows...

There's no such thing as "bad" publicity, don't let a few bandwagoning pressed haters fool you so easily...

I really don't think this is a big deal. I understand Linda's point and somewhat agree with her. I can remember everyone was kicking off once because Beyoncé or Rihanna was accused of adding themselves as writers to songs as they would rephrase one line... Y'all can't bitch at these artists if you also support Gaga in this.

Regardless, I think the credit is pretty deserved for reasons others have stated here and you shouldn't give so much weight to Linda's opinion. Gaga claims to chuck everyone a song writing credit even if the addition was just one line and this claim is basically that but with Gaga being on the receiving end. It's no biggy.

Swan Heart

This is becoming such a mess,Gaga and Diane made it all clear from the beginning..

Diane wrote the song, then Gaga comes and changes a few little things and puts her own flame to it. Clear as that, she deserves her credit in my book.

They say it's the last song. They don't know us, you see. It's only the last song if we let it be.

Omg tho. As if we'd ever congratulate the co-writers of a Gaga song when it was nominated. We congratulate the artist it represents. For Linda, that's Diane (and she's correct since she wrote 99% of the song) so her original tweet was perfectly fine.

i wish you defense gaga in that same level often too

Actually that's true :yay:

And I don't even think it's a bad publicity as it's still nominated for Oscar (Linda can say what she wants but the decision to give that nomination to Diane AND Gaga is from Oscar judges).

I don't have to defend Gaga though :neyde: She was barely involved in the writing process and mainly impacted the song in her role as producer (as clear from her own statements lol). I have no problem with the writing credit but I can understand why someone would disagree with it. That's it.

Y'all are acting like Gaga was dragged to the pits by this woman. If anything, she's not even attacking Gaga, she's attacking Diane.

I don't wish Gaga any damage to her career because I love her.

But perhaps the media picking this up and making the story big will help and encourage Gaga to stay true to herself as an artist. If the rumour is true, then Gaga deserves the embarrassment. Yes I know it's harsh but it's US, the fans that she is fooling! I thought Gaga had more integrity.
