A few years ago someone on Reddit posted about meeting her at someone's house party before she blew up, and they said she talked about meeting people in the business, and how she was going to get a record contract etc, and people were kind of like "...sure." They said the house had a piano and at some point during the night she played it and blew everyone away. This is the kind of bullying that stays with you forever and has clearly affected her massively as she has talked about many times. I don't see that as being pretentious, but ambitious. Kids can be so bitter and view people in such a negative light when they want to. There's this one kid in our class who was sometimes picked on by a group of assholes because he said he wanted to work for NASA and they were like "you never will". Guess what he's doing today?
