It's obvious Hilary is going to be the next president. America isn't ready for Democratic Socialism and the wealthy don't want it either. I'm voting for him in the primaries but I know he won't make it. Wish I lived in a country like the Scandanavian ones tbh. America will never even be close to that. Some of you are using fear tactics to discredit Bernie though and it's hilarious. Fear and politics is like hamburgers and fries.

Bernie is too far left to get the moderates' votes that are so crucial. Polls show he's actually doing very well with independents and could definitely go toe to toe with whoever the conservative nominee is. If Hillary is a definite win, and Bernie is currently tied or is barely ahead/behind Hillary in most of the early caucus polls (by reputable sources), doesn't that bode well for him as well? It was used to describe Obama's presidential win. Playing on people's fears is the oldest manipulation tactic in the book, and that's all you're doing, pretending. You have absolutely no justifiable evidence that the US would suddenly fight for anarchy, especially when much worse has been able to provoke the masses, and there hasn't been such "anarchy". LOL America was build around capitalism. Sander's ideologies are so far left it's pretty accurate to call him a liberal extremist. Don't compare him to Obama, whose most controversial aspect was the color of his skin. People like you think it's so ****ing easy to radically shift everything. Do you honestly believe Sanders can snap his fingers and dismantle the American complex? Get a grip. Edited just now by LebaneseDude.

The only "excpetion" is our current President who could manage his policy way better (imo). Dominique Strauss-Khan would have done a perfect President for France. How can you compare a socialism in a free and democratic country with the "socialism" used by the names you just gave ? Lol because it has always started the same and ended the same, that's why. All the people I mentioned are known for ruling with a strong fist and messing up their government and being bad people, but they really all just started by being the nice guy, the nice guy that would change everything for good. Who knows, maybe if Bernie actually wins, maybe he will not turn out like them. Flopenstein

At best he'd probably never get anything done, because his policies are so extremist that even the average liberal will have a hard time getting on board. Edited just now by LebaneseDude. LebaneseDude 6,146
In any case like I said I have no horse in this race so I couldn't care less if Sanders becomes president. He seems like a good guy. Maybe he'll restrain himself and cool it down if he takes the presidency, although I doubt he would. Hillary seems like the likely democratic nominee due to her more centrist policies (although she and Sanders have the same stance on around 95% of issues so they're more alike than people care to admit), at least from my unbiased perspective. What the hell do you think anyone votes for someone for? You think people are gonna go vote for Donald Trump with the tagline "Well, I guess I'll sit at a podium for four years"? You think people are gonna go vote for Ted Cruz hoping to hear speeches like "Well yesterday I had chicken salad for dinner, and thought about passing a law to change 4th Street to Hamilton Ln."? People vote for a candidate because they're going in with the hope that this will be the person to change the country for the better. But because Bernie is a message of liberal hope all of a sudden it's just young millenials with heads stuck in rainbows? You can miss me with whatever that is. He's socialist, not communist. - I didn't compare him to Obama, I compared your fear-mongering to other, less altruistic, fear mongering. - I don't think it will be easy at all, did I say that? Please, quote me. - I don't think the president could snap his fingers and make anything happen. He could, on the other hand, drive discussion towards more topics like the right to healthcare, an increased minimum wage, reforms for jails, and a lot of other topics. As a French, I'm quite proud of our socialist legacy : our healhcare would make every american jealous and the 35-hours workweek has made us the most productive employees in Europe while having enough time to care of our other activities. Socialism isn't a disease that has to be supressed, a good government would be a gouvernment that take in considerations the best of each side. Our government sucks right now, it helps too much the unemployed people and it doesn't care a bit about the ones who work their asses off! ‘If religion be the cause of disunity, then irreligion is surely to be preferred.’ ‘Abdu’l-Bahá

I'm not even talking about democracy. Hitler - Same here, his antisemitism was clear in his early year, way before he became Chancellor (German people didn't even voted for NSDAP after months of terror) Stalin - Not a nice guy, he wasn't elected and even Lenin confessed he wouldn't be a good leader. Hugo Chavez - missed putsch, jail, nothing really good actually. However he's elected legally. Once again you're trying to compare something that just can't be compared. 16 minutes ago, CrazyMonster said: Our government sucks right now, it helps too much the unemployed people and it doesn't care a bit about the ones who work their asses off!
