Yeah but Constance. She made the season.
Azor Ahai 18,861
Watch the first or second seasons and if you really like them, then you're probably going to like the rest although they are a bit more boring and confusing.

Harry 26,836
I quite enjoyed Freakshow but everyone told me it was terrible so maybe I already had low expectations. Twisty the clown and Finn's character made it entertaining and memorable for me. I have issues with pretty much every season though but MH (the first one) is my personal fav. Everyone seems to love Asylum the most but for me it's sort of average but I intend to give it another watch. There's no real consensus. Everyone has their own opinion. You should definitely give it a watch though, it's a good season. But don't let anyone's views sway how you really feel about it.
Nino 12
Freakshow is my favorite season. Ryan Murphy is terrible at scaring people so he just turned that season into a soap opera about murder. It was good.

Freakshow was scary for the first half. True. When I read your post I agreed with your method. You have great taste btw, our rankings are almost the same. I think I might continue watching the series with or without her. One question from topic where everyone ranked the seasons....what's the deal with Freakshow? It seems almost to be a board consensus that it was the worst season. Hotel is the worst season. Asylum is the best. Freakshow had its moments, definitely interesting. Coven was (American Horror) Story. Murder House was a very good start.

Freakshows episodes were -mostly long, -everything took place very slowly from like 6th ep. and -it wasn't really scary I also feel they've wasted some characters' potential, not doing anything interesting with them (the same problem with Hotel and Coven in some cases (they better step up their game with S06 and don't invite that many actors, and finally take care of the plot and overall writing FFS) Asylum to me was the best because -basically all episodes were 40-45 mins, -everything happened very quickly so you felt the thrill all the time and -it had very scary moments (also the "no escape" theme was very mind-fukcing) -it felt like almost everything had it's reason and was "logical" Also, the very last scene of Asylum is the best ending they ever came up with. You literally go all "damn truth tea, you should've listened to those wise words back then !"
Haroon 49,685
I really liked Freakshow but it's slower paced in my opinion, so to combat that you'll need to watch at least 2 episodes at a time otherwise you might get bored/frustrated I don't understand the hate for Freakshow, it had some pretty cool moments and the ending brought tears to my eyes My favourites are probably Coven and Murder House, joint second Asylum and Freakshow Not sure where I rank Hotel yet, I just finished it this morning and I'm still a bit emotional
andy232000 9,870
to me, asylum is good, but very over rated. by the last episodes it becomse crazy stupid. and the ending is bad with that "character" plot that isnt answered (didnt write the name of those characters to not spoil the op) i never watched freakshow. only the first 2 episodes but it was so boring i just couldnt go through...i know what happens already anyway

Iwontell 7,312
Freakshow, much like Hotel, starts slow and there are so many subplots going on at the same time that some of them feel a little botched, not to mention that some of the characters are quite similar (in their motivations, fears, relations with other characters, etc.) to characters the series had shown before (Elsa Mars, for example, is basically a german version of Constance Langdon), which takes some of the excitement of getting to know these characters away...other than that it's a nice season. My least favorite is Coven, because it feels a little bit undecided about what it's supposed to be. At times it feels like "Mean Girls", at times it feels like "Glee" and only at times it feels like the AHS...it's like an embryo of what would become Scream Queens - not that it's bad, but it definitely wasn't what I was expecting back then. The best season to me is Asylum. People complain about the Aliens part, but I don't think they take away from the experience. Sure, the best parts are Lana vs Leatherface and Sister Judy being a total bitch and antagonizing everyone at first, but then redeeming herself. The other three seasons are tied in 2nd place :P ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you. iAdrian97 869
Coven and asylum are tied for me. Asylum was just a great season because it was very well written and it did **** with your mind how they are trapped. I liked coven because it was just fun. People hate on it for not being scary but I don't care for it. Coven was a mess in how everyone dies 10 times but it's just enjoyable to me.
