Your 2014 reaction to Jan 2016ga?

Let's take a minute to go back to 2014... ARTPOP had just come out, performed palely in comparison to her previous albums, and her public image was not really in a good position. With her management effectively ruining the campaign, it almost felt like people had stopped caring.

So...

How would you react if you were told during that time that by January 2016 she would have won a Golden Globe, and been nominated for the upcoming Oscars and Grammys? Oh, she also picked up a Grammy and was named Woman of the Year by Billboard in 2015.

Personally, I wouldn't have believed it for a second. I think it's an amazing testament to her new management that she has been recognised in this way over the past year. They are keeping her happy and letting her take up projects/performances that she's passionate about, and it's showing in the results. I think it's easy to get caught up in all the acclaim and achievements and just "yaaaasss" away at them, but I think we should appreciate how far she's come in a few years and not take that for granted. Let's hope this happiness and creative drive can extend into a well crafted album that blows us away!

If you told me that she would win a Golden Globe and an Academy Award I would have thought you were delusional to be honest.

But what a turnaround! Gaga has hit gold this past year! Here is hoping for a great year for ya'll Gaga stans, and of course, Gaga herself.

I always knew that the ARTPOP campaign was just a slight blip in the road. She's just too good not to come back even stronger.

My reaction can be summed up as this:

I mean there's no way I could've imagined her going into acting like this, I wouldn't have expected more than cameos here and there  Plus actually having a big role and doing it well and winning an award for it, totally unimaginable  Not to mention being Billboard's Woman of the Year when she had no new material out that year - like who achieves that?

I would have believed it, to be honest. The only thing I would've doubted was winning a Golden Globe for a TV role. That never would have crossed my mind. Like mariomania already said, Gaga is too good and resourceful to not work it out.

I'm so happy she never gave up, she could've easily gave up and honestly retired (she has enough money lbr) and live off of being the face of campaigns and maybe the odd performance/cover.

I genuinely thought at one point she was about ready to give up on her career, but i'm glad she didn't here's to another 50 or more years of excellence 

 

I also know for a fact LG5 is gonna be her best album overall to me

I would've believed it because I'd remember she recorded a jazz album in June 2013 and she'd change her career/reputation with it

I was still bopping to ARTPOP in 2014, so I didn't have a problem with Gaga. 

I wouldn't have been surprised. I always had faith in her.
