GagaKing 302
Are you surprised that Gaga didn't/hasn't said anything about David Bowie's death? She loved him and he influence a lot of her album 'The Fame' so I'm a little surprised she hasn't said anything about it. Thoughts?
Dangerous Man 9,245
Are you also surprised? Spoiler That we already have tons of threads like this? "A little less conversation and a little more touch my body."
GagaKing 302
Just now, Nobody said: Are you also surprised? Hide contents That we already have tons of threads like this? Sorry, I didn't see
DontDoubtDavid 1,191
I've been wondering about that too. Everyone knows he was a huge inspiration. There's no need to use his death as a way for her to get attention. I think she's just mourning in private.
Iwontell 7,312
She talked about him in a interview the day before he died...everyone knows how she felt about him, so whats the point? Endearing herself using someone else's death? I think she will honor him eventually, though... ATTENTION: (bad) jokes and sarcasm are still a thing, so don't take everything I say literally. Thank you.
Didymus 34,379
No. Actually I prefer it this way. Public displays of supposedly genuine celebrity condolences always are uncomfortable to me. Gaga is obviously grieving and taking her own time and place to get through this and I see no reason for anyone to expect or demand her to say anything. The retweet is enough for me. In fact it's more than enough: it was an expression of how she's both at a loss for words ànd why that is - because for her, he is a part of her. So grow up. Judas Oyster 1,914
As @Didymus says (without the "grow up" part) apparently that re-tweet is enough. I think she has changed and I think that many fans (including me) have been wondering why not bc it is a normal and expected thing to do for Gaga. She has always tweeted about things like this happening about people she truly cares about... So I think we're just used to it, and when she doesn't do it now we're feeling confused. But we all know she loved him and was a immense inspiration for her, so I guess that's the most important part
Anderson123 38,207
I actually expected this but I also hope she doesn't come up with a full article talking about Bowie. 95% of her career she has avoided questions about him and always said that she believes Bowie is something very sacred and personal to her that she doesn't want to speak about it. So I hope she keeps that in private like I expect.
Mobster 14,604
She doesn't have to. She has praised him plenty of times while he was alive, when it actually mattered. Because, believe it or not, whatever she says/tweets/posts now, is not a message for Bowie, but a message for the people. And she doesn't owe the people any explanation, because anyone who cares about her work, further from the confinement of her twitter account, knows she cares and knows how much she appreciated him. Such a rotten concept of empathy, when people expect you to grieve in public, as anything else is considered apathy and indifference. But I'm only a man and I do what I can. Schwerk 7,243
She didnt have to because everyons can grief in there own way. But she did. Not only with the retweet: I view it like her responses whenever she was asked about him. If they'd met, If she wanted them to meet, if she knows what he thinks about her. She was always very discreet about that. Same goes for her relationship with Iman. She doesn't like to talk about it, it's sacred to her. She wants to keep this to herself I guess and not put the attention on her. According to Gaga I'm a ****ing rad bitch

REALITY 76,270
It's obviously very sad to see a legend pass away, especially one of the caliber of David Bowie. It's honestly disgusting how many people don't even realize the impact he's had on pop culture, and then try to act like they know the guy. We all know that Gaga's inspiration was Bowie, and I quite like the fact that she isn't saying anything about it. She doesn't have to prove to the world that she's a "fan", because she is a FAN. And in for all intents and purposes, she IS Bowie. The influence he's had on her didn't just stay at surface level. He's a big reason why we even have Lady Gaga in the first place. 🦠🧙♀️🥀📸🎉👻🕺🧟💊💖☎️🔪👤🐺🌱🌎
Kayla 7,595
Social media is such a small representation of things going on in someone's life and head. Sometimes I scroll through my accounts and realize there isn't a single post that can connect to parts of my past that I feel are most important or most memorable. I'm not necessarily surprised that Gaga hasn't said anything directly about Bowie's passing, but I also don't think it needs to be read into heavily.
