Backhanded compliments is not a real compliment. The same can be said of Madonna's win in 1996. She was up against Glenn Close, Barbra Streisand and funny enough Frances McDormand for the film Fargo, who all gave much better performances. Btw this is hilarious to me because if you compare that to Gaga, you then agree that she didn't get the award for delivering the best performance? If you do, then why are you quoting me with this? Just because you thought I was some deluded Madonna stan? I have hated everything Madonna did since 2009 and dragged everything related to her recent era more than anyone on the site. And like I said: I have mocked her win for Evita ever since Gaga was nominated for the award, predicting she'd win for the same reason. Do your research before you call me out in this cheap way. What a mess.
Whispering 18,865
Of course she is! She looked radiant and won a big award for her first serious acting role. She was completely committed and it showed. Her speech was that of genuine shock and was sincerely appreciative and humble. Gaga won the night! Just going out on a limb here but maybe she was referring to her own Oscar win in 1988 (?) for Best Actress in Moonstruck? And she and Gaga are both artists first and actors second? I don't know Gaga also said in her acceptance speach she felt like Cher winning for Moonstruck and I am almost certain the head dress Cher wore to the Oscars that year had feathers, but who knows exactly why she tweeted it.
