Best actor refers to acting abilities and performance, not who payed The most and The one who The advertise folk thoughed would bring more viewers. This is no way The first time with gg's

Do you have any proof of these allegations?

Also Gaga is a great actress based on her body language. Also the way she bared her all on the show deserves acclaim. 

She still has to work on her oral presentation, but it has improved a lot throughout the season.

Perhaps the improvement she has shown throughout the season is a criterion too?

I also think she wasn't as good as her competition but let me represent the people who get how this award show works but don't spread around negativity for it

I mean, this is what we expected and this is what the majority of journalists expected. The Guardian was candid enough to publish: "Will win: Lady Gaga - Should win: Kirsten Dunst."

I've known this award show was questionable ever since Madonna won in 1997. Televised award shows just work a different way, especially when they're run by journalists, not critics. I mean, it's telling that for the Critics' Choice Awards several Hotel actors are nominated, but not Gaga. That's just how it goes.

So I don't think that people like @Snow should be so spiteful, personally. This is what we expected, it's a great award for Gaga to have, it's a win win for the fanbase ànd the award show (just imagine how much buzz this fanbase created for free - that's what it's for) and that's all there is to it. I don't like how these shows work either but that's our own problem.

I agree that it's a little comical to see people say stuff like "talent wins" etc. when they surely wouldn't have said the same back in 1997 but just like the Golden Globes, that's just how this forum works and whining about it isn't gonna do much good.

It's just the system. And it's all very understandable. Gaga winning this award is a testament to her media power, her presence in it (I mean, journalists and photographers vote for a reason), the power of her fanbase to bring free promo ànd her performance, last but not least, because if she was an awful actress she'd never have gotten the nomination.

You have to remember, Gaga sent in "Flicker" for submission which was an amazing episode for her to show off her acting skills ànd we also knew that in the category she was in (Mini-Series/TV Film) only lead actors could be nominated. Sarah/Kathy/... didn't even have a chance so that explains a lot too.

So all that pretty much makes Gaga the perfect candidate and in the system that the show represents, she's the perfect winner. There's nothing "wrong" with that per se. It's just like the televised Grammy categories. I mean, everyone likes to boast about how important Grammy's are but really, some nominations have been an absolute mess (Teenage Dream being nominated for Album of the Year, anyone?). It's all for buzz, it's all for publicity and I'm sure the actors know that too.

So y'know. No need to get upset imo and invite people to trash you and call you a fake Gaga fan again Let's just keep our eyes on the award shows we think matter
