I'm just asking how you connect your statements about subjectivity to your habit of posting like this. Neight Shayde 7,925
Interesting! I loved Born This Way but I understand if she thinks of it the same way as ARTPOP. Maybe she was really in a bad, bad place then and everything started to fall apart during the btw era. Anyway i'm super glad that she's very aware about it! hopefully that'll translate to LG5

Fans opinions are subjective over which album or era they identify with more or prefer, for many reasons. That's my original statement and remains my opinion on the general subject of this thread. I've already stated, several times, exactly what I meant with my original comment that started this conversation. This is what you said: "Anyone can comment in it and give their opinion on the OP and on the other opinions that have been expressed." That's what I'm doing.. You tell me to remember that opinions are subject, I'm simply asking why you're telling me that when you don't seem to make the slightest bit of effort to remember it yourself? It's not off-topic because my post dealt with negative opinions and your off-topic posts in other threads (like the example I posted above) also deal with negative opinions yet somehow there's this fundamental difference between the two (I'm the hater, you're the saint) that is ridiculous. So no, it isn't off-topic. You brought a subject in here, I'm responding to it, you're refusing to respond to what I'm saying. I already asked you to take this conversation elsewhere and you refuse to do that too so this is not about it being off-topic, quit that act.

Fans are going to choose different eras or albums as their favorites due to personal opinions and feelings they have about those certain times in their lives or their individual tastes in music. Quality is going to be subjective, when asking fans to pick their favorite songs, albums, performances, videos, or eras.

Why are you repeating this over and over again when you already know I agreed to it in like the first post of this unbearable ordeal of a dialogue? Well, whatever man. I tried. That's not a problem. A record can be noisy and rough and thus authentic and full of character....as a result from the imperfect. Like a person, a charming heartful person person who does not need chasing the perfection. But it's not the right thing for the masses, yes. But i also think the new album will comes with a high quality sound.

Especially ARTPOP. Nothing she has done has ever come remotely close in terms of quality to her second album; The Fame Monster. She's finally seeing the light Really? I think Born This Way is a natural progression from TFM. I totally agree about ARTPOP being a step back from that point though.
PopBitch 1,218
This is really disappointing how she is praising the first two as gold and all of a sudden lumping BTW with ARTPOP. #nodisrespectmeanttoARTPOPlovers She used to stand by that album as being brilliant and everything she wanted to say, and that's when she bragged about herself a lot, back during that era and was extremely confident about that album and made the album she wanted to make. Part of a BTW promo interview with Time Out London. "She is the internet age’s first true pop phenomenon, but mo’ Twitter followers (she recently hit the ten million mark), mo’ problems. While no megastar in history has been able to connect with their audience so easily, nor has any been quite this easy to heckle. In February, Lady G's much-trumpeted big comeback single, ‘Born This Way’, was loudly criticised for sounding too much like Madonna; its successor, ‘Judas’, was rounded upon for being too much like, er, Lady Gaga. ‘It’s part of the whole internet culture,’ she declares. ‘People want you to fail. People want to tear me down, they were going to knife me anyway. The good news it that when they look back they’ll all remember how brave I was: “She put out a record about being yourself, and we crucified her for it, but she soared on and sat at Number One for six weeks and told everyone to **** OFF!” ’ It wasn’t ‘Born This Way’ that told everyone to **** off. Earlier this month, with an album release looming, ‘Judas’ tumbling down the charts and the album’s artwork being widely derided, a miniature backlash seemed to be gathering pace. Then with little fanfare and no overhyped video, a song called ‘The Edge of Glory’ appeared on iTunes. It was supposed to be an album teaser, and Gaga’s label didn’t even take it to radio. It hit Number One on iTunes around the world. It was a reminder that all those outfits would have counted for nothing if her first single, ‘Just Dance’, hadn’t been a little bit special, or if subsequent releases such as ‘Bad Romance’ hadn’t been pretty listenable to boot. Perhaps this is why Gaga, as she sits in front of me now, flicking through her iPod and blasting out tunes from her album, is so excited. She is certain she has made a brilliant album. ‘Maybe I’m out of my mind, but I believe the number of albums we’re going to sell is ridiculous,’ she says." She was riding so high off the peak of The Fame/Monster that she felt she was untouchable, and she was going to capitalize on that momentum by making a classic album for the ages. But she didn't actually think it through, the album was so rushed and a lot of it was recorded very last minute while on tour, and she had absolutely no time off for a year straight which as she's now said, didn't allow her creativity to flourish properly. When the album ended up selling half of it's lifetime sales in the first week and the era came to a crashing halt before the year was even up there's no way she wasn't massively disappointed and disillusioned, and she probably wished she could have done things differently and looks back on it with a clear perspective now. hELXIG 43,031
Juust gonna add my 2 cents here: I think Born This Way was her best album, and probably will be forever. Everything about it was so solidly done. Just everything, from concept, to production, to lyrics, to catchiness, to creativity. She put so much work into it, and I think she was working the hardest she ever had at that point, and was filled with a motivation like never before during that era. Listen to the instrumentals and acapellas and you'll realise how many layers of thought went into every song. I'll be myself until they fūcking close the coffin.
