She is not like Rihanna who has 13 #1 hits, she can choose whatever she wants. With Gaga, she only has 3. It is expected that she sings them when you attend her tour. Only Applause has that fresh sound from ARTPOP, and TF & TFM are mostly mainstream pop. It's like this fanbase can't get over the fact that it sounds polished - if it sounds that clean, it has to be basic too. Weird and delusional logic. It's the one I can still listen to from start to finish and love the whole time. I also think the meanings in the lyrics are important and clever. However, looking at album eras as a whole, BTW doesn't hold a candle to TFM, which I think was her best album era and visually her best representation of an album. It certainly was my favorite Gaga concert I've been to as well. TF I think was her best album era in terms of Gaga being on her game when it came to manipulating the viewers, so from an execution standpoint that album is my favorite. I think if ARTPOP would have been executed in a way that more dramatically brought art to the mainstream I would have listed it as a favorite for that reason, but her projects during that era which truly blended art into pop, I feel, didn't translate to the general public. C2C I respect for the way it introduced younger generations to more jazz, and for the way it focused Gaga on the love of the music. I really do think LG5 will be a very mature album in many ways. I think Gaga's intention is not to write a good dance hit, but to make an album that really matters and expresses artistic integrity. She's showing that she wants to keep up with great things, not with the kids, which I think is super important. This album could have the ability to remove Gaga as one of the "Pop Girls" and into a truly respected Woman in Music.
