no offense but this is what happens when music sucks.

Love yourself is a nice song but not a #1.

his manager is doing a great job of rebuilding his image.

I have to admit that I had to eat my hat regarding Justin. His comeback has been spectacular, it'll probably go down as one of the most spectacular in pop history. To come back from where he was with Journals is...unfathomable. There are no words. Quite why he had such a turnaround and everyone started caring again is unclear but regardless of what you think of him, these achievements are what they are. In a way, he's slaying even harder in the UK than he is in the US. He only had one #1 over there (his first) and he's had three here (also firsts). He's now one of the hallowed few who have managed to achieve 3 UK #1's from one album. Now, obviously, streaming plays a vital role these days. I believe Sorry only got to #1 because it had considerable streaming to push it higher, as evidenced by it only being there a week. But then again, Sorry has managed to stick around at #2 in the charts for over 2 months or thereabouts, so it's not like it just got lucky. Both WDYM and Sorry are at almost 1 million sales respectively and LY is over 700k. There are 8 Justin songs in the top 100 right now. And he's set to do  a whopping 16 arena gigs in the UK, including 6 at London's O2 alone. Overall, he has 111 dates and that's just US and Europe.

Have to admit, as much as I dislike him, it's at least interesting to see someone succeed who isn't one of the usual suspects. The UK is usually pretty predictable with who it chooses to favour musically and it loves its homegrown acts. It all becomes a bit boring as the same faces rotate. So, to see someone who isn't an expected choice do really well is good popcorn fodder. After all, who doesn't like a cat amongst the pigeons?
