What if LG5 were a complete surprise but not a surprise release?

Not too sure how thread-worthy this is but I thought this could be interesting and I wanna hear your opinions on this.

What if Gaga were announce things as she usually does but the main details of the album were left unannounced.

Example:

Gaga tweets or announces

"My new single "Caterpillar" (or whatever - u get the point) will be released 2.12.16. The new album 5.3.16"

The album gets no title. Only a release date. No album art. No tracklist. All is revealed on the day of the release (or whenever the dang album leaks because....let's be real) You can pre-order digital or physical bundles and stuff but everything would be missing the album art and tracklist COMPLETELY. I'd be here for it but what I'm wondering is would this work? Would doing something like this be a commercial success or failure? I feel like it's cool because it's not "Beyonce suprise release ripoff". It's planned. There's hype. But it's all one big mystery.

Thoughts?

I don't think it really matters that much if we get the tracklist or anything before, but the name of the album would leak, so would tracklist

I don't know. It would be great if we learn the release date 1 month before the release tbh. Waiting too long and overpromoting an album destroys it . Examples:Pinkprint,ARTPOP etc. Both sold relatively well but not well compared to their old works and the big promo before the album release

I'd be absolutely fine with that. I don't really care. Different promo tactics work differently, as long as it's well done I think that a complete surprise ànd a drawn-out pre-album promo hype could work.

Mr Judas

Good idea.

And about it being a failure or a success depends on the quality of music that's there on it. Plus how well the single does (musically and commercially).

Most fans would preorder the album so the sales would be not so much cuz the GP will know the real taste of the album only after it releases and GP will start buying it if it stays up to the hype it was given.

This is a good idea, so that the 2nd week sales don't drop (Aka ARTPOP)

:rip:

It would be cool! We wouldn't be so desperate because we would have a date but it would still be exciting as we wouldn't have any of the album's details.

This is an interesting idea!

I think Gaga enjoys too much the process of releasing and teasing something to do something like that.

REALITY

I'd rather know when the music is going to be release than promo photos/album cover (we're going to know them eventually anyway).

I would like it, but, the physical album would have a black/foiled paper covering it instead of a transparent one (it could say LADY GAGA or LG5, in that way it shouldn't be able to leak before the release, unless a store worker opens it :v) and it would be a surprise to everyone who buys it :gaycat:

Also, no matter what, this album needs to be released the same day WW to keep the leaks away :neyde:
